Teresa Collins - Family Stories - a couple of layouts

I seem to have been buying a lot of Teresa Collins' collections lately. I love the thickness of the paper and the colours and designs. Recently, I bought the Family Stories Collection with a voucher I won.
Here are a couple of layouts I produced with the collection.
First up is one I did using lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies. This was for the sketch challenge over at Anna's Craft Cupboard.
I've had this photo waiting to be scrapped for a while. It was taken last year when my FIL came to visit from Mildura, the first time he has been down since moving up there in 2003. As we don't see him that often, we decided to get a family photo. I decided to go with something a bit more simple in style this time.  The colours in the Teresa Collins Family Stories Collection were perfect and I found some Purple Pumpkin embellishments to match.

Here I have layered two Purple Pumpkin vinyl hearts with an orange ticket.

Some black loops washi tape, orange vinyl cog and pink fabric button.

Some more black loop washi tape.

Second up is a layout I did for the Sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy.
This is one celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Photo taken by DD at the front of our house.

And a couple of close ups.

Thanks for looking.

Peacock - FWAB style

Here is a colourful layout I shared on the FWAB blog last week.
On this layout I used two different Dylusion sprays – Fresh lime and Calypso Teal. I then sprayed water through a stencil and blotted it to get the background effect. I then added my photos matted on cardstock and added my FWAB bling in suitable peacock colours.
I used a FWAB Jasmine Puffy Flourish in Teal, and FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourishes in Olive Green and Blue. I also added some of the spare pearls on the corners. I didn’t quite have enough blue pearls so used some from theAdhesive Pearl Pack – 100 Blue to create my own blue pearl flourish above the smaller photo. To finish off I added two black FWAB flowers – one from the Maddison range and one from the Elise range.
 Here are some close ups

Jot magazine Mood Board 8

If you're looking for The Trinket Track Blog Hop go here

I loved the colours when I saw the Jot Magazine Mood Board this challenge and have just managed to sneak in with this one.
The Teresa Collins Tell Your Story was perfect for the colours. I bought it for myself for Christmas last year but haven't used it as much as I'd hoped. I took inspiration from the colours and the chevron baby blanket, and the tissue pom pom.

I first sprayed my background with chalk glimmermist through a chevron mask. Then added abit of the glimmermist to some texture paste and used another mask to apply the texture paste. I love the way it give you a darker version of the spray.

In my cluster I used a Prima flower, with a resin rose and a lovely sequin rose from The Trinket Track, a couple of wooden veneer embellies and some sentiments from the Teresa Collins collection.

Here is the mood board I took inspiration from:

The Trinket Track Blog Hop

Welcome to The Trinket Tracks' 1st Birthday blog hop.
The Trinket Track specialises in craft embellishments. Not only will you find some staples and favourites, you will also find something a little different to really make your work stand out from the rest and at very reasonable prices.

Monica asked to produce a layout based on a circle theme.
Here is my interpretation

I produced a circular layout, with a circular photo. I used some of the cork circles from the shop and my trees have circles on them. The Trinket Track have just started to stock Manor House Flowers and I couldn't resist using some on my layout.

These Mayglo flowers are just gorgeous and there is also a small pink organza flower from the shop tucked in there too.

Another close up of the Mayglo.

Here you can see the a Darling flower, from MHF, the cork circle and my fabric banner made from self adhesive fabric (also available from TT) and topped with some pink chiffon ribbon.

Aussie Scrap Source Readers Challenge Designing with Washi

Last week the Readers Challenge at Aussie Scrap Source was to design with washi. This might sound simple but you have to use brands sold by them.  I have heaps and heaps of rolls of washi but not many of them are branded. I discovered that only about 10 were. Luckily I managed to find 5 that went together from My Minds Eye, Queen and Co and Glitz Design.
So I went with this simple design.

And some close ups

And I'm pleased to say it won the contest for that week.

Scrap Friends Colour Palette challenge #16

Good morning and welcome to the start of another week. Today I have a layout to share with you that I completed recently for the colour palette challenge over at Scrap Friends
A couple of weeks ago I went to the Masters Techiques classes and had a ball. One of the products we worked with was Dylusions. I had a few bottles in my stash but was a bit wary of using them. The class gave me the confidence to have a go. I had fun creating the background using Dylusions spray, water and a Crafters Workshop template. Then I added more chevrons using ink. I also used some Viva Decor Ferro texture paint to add the brick wall using another template.

I used quite a lot of Purple Pumpkin goodies on this layout. This XL fabric button started life as blue, white and yellow but because I needed orange I just altered the colour using a normal texta. Worked a treat. You would never know!

Another Purple Pumpkin spotty fabric button teamed up with some blue chevron washi tape.

Other Purple Products I have used: Grey polka dot washi tape and an orange spotty fabric button.

Well that's me done for today.

Last week I caught up with the fact that Aussie Scrap Source was having a series of Reader Challenges designing with different things. I missed the first one but last week it was designing with masks/stencils and sprays. Here is the layout I created. I used texture paste and a stencil, I embossed some areas with clear embossing powder and then sprayed with 3 different colour sprays. then I inked through another 2 different stencils with 3 more inks.

Products used:
Tattered Angels Key Lime Glimmermist
Tattered Angels Cornflower Daze Chalkboard Glimmermist
Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in teal
The Crafters Workshop stencils – 6x6 Kaleidoscope, 6x6 Mini harlequin and 6x6 Tiny circles
Distress Inks – Peeled paint, Chipped Sapphire and Broken China.
Patterned paper and diecuts are from Jillibean Soup.

White with 1 Sept challenge

White with 1 have gone back to their roots and this month's challenge is to create a layout with White and Pistachio. Wasn't too sure what shade of green pistachio was so I picked something similar and created this layout. Another layout with lots of texture paste. I mixed my own green paste by adding some Mr Hueys mist to my texture paste. I really love that Crafters Workshop little dots template at the moment. I also used natural texture paste and just sprayed over the top of it. I also used some Distress Ink and inked through a 3rd template.
The pictures are of my 'friendly' nervous semi feral cat Smudge that I have been feeding for over a year now. My husband took these and it was hiding from him.

Here are some close ups of the texture paste

Stuck Sketches September 1st sketch Challenge

I seem to have been doing a lot of pages with sprays and texture paste and not much paper lately. I really liked the sketch this month over at Stuck Sketches so decided to keep fairly simple and not alter the sketch too much.  I'd just bought some stickers and chipboard from the new Say Cheese range by Simple Stories and they were perfect for these photos of Cosentino and my DD posing with her new Cosentino t shirt.

And some close ups.

A Purple Pumpkin Flair button.

And here is the sketch my layout is based on:

As I say I kept pretty close to it.

Probably back with some more tomorrow.

You still hold the key to my heart - The Trinket Track

Time seems to have got away from me and I never got around to sharing a layout I did for The Trinket Track blog.

I recently celebrated my 20th Wedding Anniversary and I got my daughter to take some photos of me and my husband in the back garden. The photo on this layout was the best of the bunch.
I love the ruffled chiffon flowers in the shop and wanted to make this teal one the centre piece of my layout.

A close up of the chiffon flower.

I added some smaller flowers including some classic rose cabochons in peach.

Here used a Santa Key pendant as part of my title and added another resin flower in the centre.

Don't forget The Trinket Track is turning 1 and we have a special blog hop arranged for Saturday 14th Sept. Be sure to stop by then for your chance to win some goodies.

Until next time
