D-Lish Scraps March Inspiration Board - Tropical Twist

Hi everyone, I thought it's about time I shared with you my sample for the March Inspiration Board over at D-Lish Scraps. A bright palette of ombre pinks, yellows and oranges! Something sure to keep those looming winter blues at bay. Lots of pretty flowers, textures and patterns make up this board and the possibilities are endless! As always, if you need a kick start, we've included the optional sketch to get you going.

And here's my take:

I was inspired by the balloons and the cake. This is the cake I made for DH when he turned 50 last year.

Some close ups:

Lots of circles using a Kaisercraft stencil and inks and adding dew drops and sequins to fill in the gaps.

D-Lish Products Used:
Twine - Pink/Yellow

Would love to see you have a go at this challenge.

Stuck?! Sketches March 1 sketch

It's been a while since I shared something. I'm having a bit of a lull in my mojo at the moment. DH is unemployed again so is home all the time at the moment. Plus I've been getting into photography so we have been out and about taking photos.
Anyway, here is a layout I did for the first March sketch over at Stuck?! It took me ages to do. I ended up using a mixture of Teresa Collins He said, She said and some embellies from Glitz Designs Dapper Dan and a Greatest View Flair and a little resin moustache from The Trinket Track.

And here are some close ups.

And here is the sketch I based my layout on.

Thanks for looking.

Frosted Designs Punctuation challenge

Today I have a layout to share that I completed for the Frosted Designs punctuation challenge which was to include punctuation of any kind somewhere on your project. I chose to use yellow foam brackets.  I used Kaisercraft Confetti pp and embellishments and also used  just one FWAB Grace pearl flourish in rose pink and one FWAB Jack vine in green which have been cut up into several pieces and strategically placed around my page.
And here are some close ups

Scrap the Boys March challenge

Back with another share today!

I love the colour combo which is the challenge over at Scrap the Boys this month - yellow, blue and green.
Here is my take. The background started life as a white sheet of cardstock that had been used to soak up excess Dylusions spray at the one of the Master's classes I did last year. So there were splotches of lemon zest, green grass and turquoise blue on it. I added some stamping using the same Dylusion sprays and London blue and some Kaisercraft background stamps. I sprayed the Dylusions onto a craft sheet and then swirled the stamps in the spray. The result was a sort of splotchy stamp. I also used some tin lids to get the circles. I then flicked some water onto it and wiped a bit with a baby wipe. I also did some stencilling with my favourite dots stencil and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.

There wasn't really any need for any patterned paper so I mounted the photo on some corrugated card and just added a couple of embellishments - a Charms Creations Heavenly Heart and a Lil' Something flair and some thin twine.

Finally, I added some alphas each side of a Heidi Swapp resist arrow coloured with more chipped sapphire ink.

Loved the background it all created.

March FWAB challenge

Hi everyone!
Linda is hosting this months challenge!
It seems there has been a lot of purple and teal in the world of scrapbooking of late,
So she thought she would continue with these colours for this months challenge.
All you need to do is create anything using the colours below
and of course it has to contain some bling.

It was my turn this month to create a sample so here is my take:

And here are some close ups of the FWAB products I've used.
I used purple Jasmine laser flourish

A black Elise flower

and a silver Kate's corner flourish
