Happy Moments

I teased you with a sneak peek last week. Well here is the layout in full. This was my first creation with my FWAB DT kit.  Previously I have only really used the FWAB pearl flourishes and designated these as my favourite product. Since my DT kit arrived I think I have a new favourite the Jasmine Laser Flourishes. They are so irridescent in colour. I’ve tried to capture that in my photos but I’m not sure they really do them justice.

I am entering this in The Studio June challenge which was to include sewing on your layout. I have hand stitched under my date and included 3 cross stitches next to my sub title.

For this layout I have used the FWAB Jasmine Laser Flourish – Teal and some pearls from the FWAB Adhesive Pearls 100 Pack – Teal as teal is one of my favourite colours at the moment. I have placed the flourish centre stage and added some of the smaller pearls along the outside swirls.

 Here is a close up of the Jasmine laser swirl with the added pearls.

 I also added some of the larger pearls as spacers between my banners.

And created a corner feature using 3 sizes of pearls.

CSI #75 with lots of Purple Pumpkin

Good morning, as you read this I will be enjoying the delights of Sydney as we are having a family break there for a few days.

This is a layout I did for CSI Case File #75 a couple of weeks ago. And I'm happy to say it was chosen as one of the most wanted (second week in a row for me).:)

My layout documents 15 facts about Eleanor, my DD's first year.

And now for some close ups.

I have used a peach floral fabric button and a mint resin rose.

My other cluster included abeautiful  peach yo yo flower, a pink crocheted doily, a pale pink spotty button top and a white resin rose.

Let's Get Trendy Now 3! - Sequins challenge

I recently found Let's Get Trendy Now! - a week long look at current scrapbooking trends run by some very talented scrappers. There were challenges set each day and I thought I'd have a go at one of them. - Sequin challenge.

Recently I was having a clear out and thought I'd check some old CD's to see what they had on them. I was thrilled to find a load of photos taken in 2004 which we didn't have copies of on any of your computers. This layout features some of the photos. I decided to print 4 small ones together as a couple of them are a bit blurry and it isn't as noticeable in the smaller size.

This adorable handmade light denim shabby lolly is from the Trinket Track. I knew the pink button in the centre matched the top my daughter was wearing and the patterned paper I wanted to use. There are actually three lollies to a pack each with a different colour button and come at a great price of $2.50 for the three.

I also used some acrylic heart buttons and tied a piece of hot pink organza ribbon through the holes also available at The Trinket Track.

Confetti is very much in vogue at the moment so I created my own with a mix of sequins (available in the shop), some spare beads I had and a half pearl.

Scrap Our Stash Challenge #4

Good evening from a very damp and soggy Victoria. 

I'm here to share a recent layout I have created for the current challenge at Scrap Your Stash which was to scrap a male and include at least 5 brads. I have used lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies.

I thought these photos of DS fooling around went very well with the oversized Joker card that came in one of my Purple Pumpkin goodie bags and I wanted to create a bright colourful layout to match the mood.

Here are a couple of close ups.

In this one I have put a blue bird  fabric button on top of a blue vinyl cog.

Here I have used a red/blue vinyl star round, and I have tucked a blue ticket under the card. (There is also a red ticket diagonally opposite). I have also used some strips of red zigzag washi tape.
This photo also shows 4 of my brads. I have used 2 yellow brads to hold the card in place and placed 3 red square brads and 3 blue square brads below and above the blue and red ticket.

Flourish with a Bling June sketch challenge

I used a Flourish with a Bling Grace Pearl Flourish in Rose Pink and some pearls from the Adhesive pearls 100 pack - Pearl for the centre of my teal flower. These are great value and come with pearls in 5 different sizes.

Scrap Your Story #14 and CSI #74

I started created this layout for Challenge #74 at CSI and when I started to do my journalling the song Summer of 69 by Bryan Adams popped into my head so I thought I'd use that as my title and it went well with Challenge #14 Scrap Your Story which was to use the title or lyrics of a song on your layout.

I wanted to create a 60's feel to the page so found a retro font and some retro flowers and used my Silhouette to cut them out. Yes Lizzy Hill I did use my Silhouette!!

The photos were all taken in July 1969 when my cousin Valarie and Great Uncle Albert were visiting from the United States. I'm the little girl in the photos. I've journalled about their visit. About the moon landing and catching German Measles whilst they were here.

My evidence was flowers and metal (2 metal brads in the centres of a couple of the flowers) and my testimony was to document a childhood memory.

I'm thrilled to say I've been selected to be a member of the Flourish with a Bling Design Team for 2013-2014. Can't quite believe it!!

My first Trinket Track project

Today I'm sharing with you my first ever post for The Trinket Track.

For my first project I thought I'd go down the vintage lane. I have many old family photos that I want to scrap and there are lots of embellishments at The Trinket Track that scream vintage to me.

One such embellishment was the metal vintage rose which was the spark for this whole layout. I just thought it would complement the flowers in my great grandmothers bouquet and hat.

I then chose the ivory camelia. However, the ivory looked a bit too bright with patterned paper so I altered it. I didn't have any spray that matched so watered down some paint and mixed my own colour - turquoise and moss green until I got a colour that matched the teal paper. I topped it off with a half teal pearl. Gradually I built up more of a cluster until I was happy with it.

Here are some close ups of my cluster.

Here I have used a filligree metal flower and added a half pearl as a centre. This is sitting just behind a curly resin rose and some of my own Prima flowers.

June Sketch challenge at Purple Pumpkin

SOME EXCITING CHANGES!!!!

We have decided to make a few changes in our sketch challenge rules!!! I rotated the sketch 90 degrees. The stripes to me meant only one thing - stripes of washi tape and I have used 8 different tapes all from Purple Pumpkin which can be found here.

Here I have used a red crocheted doily and a black floral fabric button. 

And here I have used a ladybug fabric button layered on top of two strips of washi tape.
