Sassy Scrappers August Challenge

Just scraping in by the skin of my teeth is my entry for the August sketch at Sassy Scrappers.
Here is the sketch :

And here is my take on it :

I am in love with the Viva Decor Ferro texture paint at the moment. I had bought some a couple of weeks back and then at the Masters Technique Classes I went to last week, we got a bottle with Beck Beatties Class. I think this is the 2nd or 3rd layout I have used it on this week.

Here are a few close ups:

This one shows the Ferro Texture Paint.

Berry71bleu August Challenge

Yay, I have finally managed to create a scrap page this month that WASN'T for a DT assignment. It has been a crazy month with birthdays, anniversaries, Pink concert and various other appointments so I haven't had much time to scrap. However, I really wanted to do the challenge over at Berry71bleu which was to use textiles on your project and they have a great prize from Faber Castell on offer.

So here is my take. I have a thing at the moment for blue and brown flowers together. I think this is my 3rd recent layout featuring them. I think I've finally got it out of my system and am pleased the way this layout has turned out. My main textile was hessian, which I layered under my band of flowers, and under the journal strips and under the flowers on the top. I also used felt to create some roses. The blue Manor House flowers are also made from fabric.

And here are some close ups.

Don't know if I'll get to do any more challenges this month or whether I should spend my time getting ahead with next months DT work. Difficult decision.

Introducing new flowers at FWAB

Flourish with a Bling have just released some new flowers this week -

MADDISON flowers - This pack of 3 chiffon style fabric flowers come in 6 fabulous colours - chocolate, black, white, soft pink, baby blue and lilac. They measure approximately 6cm in diameter and have a lovely layered pearl drop button in the centre.

ELISE flowers - This pack of 4 satin style fabric flowers come in 5 fabulous colours - black, white, cream, pink and burnt orange. They measure approximately 5cm in diameter and have a lovely flower shaped clear rhinestone button in the centre.

They are both  very reasonably priced and if you can't get them from your local scrapbooking shop they are available in the FWAB store at only $3 per pack.

I was have been lucky enough to have a play with them and here is a layout I created especially to showcase the flowers. I'm loving the brown, blue, cream/white colour palette at the moment.

I have used both Maddison and Elise flowers here and added someFWAB  Chloe Flourish in baby blue to finish off the layout.

Here are some close ups so you can see the texture of them a bit better.

So what are you waiting for go get some flowers!!

Why so sad? FWAB layout

Today I have a layout to share with you that recently appeared on the FWAB blog. We recently scanned in all the photographs of our son during his first year. It was wonderful rediscovering his photos and this one really caught my eye – the look on his face. It was on our first holiday as a family to Hobart when he was about 8 months old. He was a really busy boy and I can only imagine he was fed up of being in the stroller. We spent a lot of that holiday in the baby and parent room in Myers so that he could move around! I kept the layout fairly simple as I wanted to concentrate on the photo.
However, I just couldn’t go past adding the beautiful FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourish in blue.  I cut it up to make it go further. You see you can add bling to a boy page! I also added a few pearls from the FWAB Adhesive Pearls 100 Pack – Red as extra highlights.
Here are a few close ups of the Chloe Flourish.

I hope this has inspired you to add bling to your next boy page.
Until next time.

Yummy Scrap #15 Colour Palette Challenge July 2013

I've always wanted to join in with this challenge over at ScrapFriends but time always gets away from me. However, this month I simply loved the colours and had to give it a go.

This layout is of my daughter on our holiday to Queensland a couple of years ago.

A few close ups. Here I have used a pale pink flower, a pink corduroy button, 2 crocheted doilies and some light pink and white twine.

Here I have used a pale pink spotty button and some grey polka dot washi tape

And another close up of my cluster.

All for now
