Scary ride

Here is a layout I did for the Purple Pumpkin blog yesterday.

Well Halloween has been and gone and Purple Pumpkin has lots of Halloween inspired products that you can find here

However they don't have to be used just on Halloween photos. I scrapped this photo of my family just before they went to queue up for the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster at Movie World . They queued up for more than an hour and had just made the front of the queue when the ride broke down!

Here's a couple of close ups of Purple Pumpkin goodness - a cute Scooby Doobutton, green ticketorange crocheted doily and cantaloupe twine.

The cute spider button looked just right in the middle of this web which was already printed on my patterned paper.

Purple Pumpkin November sketch challenge

So, November is here already and there is a new sketch for you at Purple Pumpkin by Crece!!!

Here is my take on the sketch

I chose to stick fairly close to the sketch.
Here is a close
up of my PP embellisments.

I chose to alter a couple of them. I have used a white paper doily which I have inked to match the colours of my layout. I have also used a white satin flower which originally had a small black spotty button in the middle. I managed to replace it with a yellow fabric button. Finally I have used a resin oval rose

Other products used:
Lily Bee Buttercup patterned paper - Queenbee, Robin's egg, Puddles and Blossom
Kaisercraft ribbon roses - Sea breeze
Crafty Koala paper roses
Green Tara ribbon
Zva Glitz pearl swirls
Homemade felt roses
Dark grey spotty washi tape
Versa magic chalk ink
Martha Stewart rings punch

You have until the end of the month to complete this Sketch Challenge and link it up in the sidebar on the Purple Pumpkin blog by midnight 30th of November 2012. There will be two fabulous Purple Pumpkin prize packs to give away - one winner will be chosen by the design team, and the second will be a random prize draw.

Please check out the RULES HERE!!!
Everyone has a chance, even without using PP products!

Purple Pumpkin October Sketch

If you haven't done so already why don't you give the Purple Pumpkin October sketch challenge a whirl. There's a $25 voucher to spend on goodies for the winner chosen by the design team and a random draw winner of a $15 voucher. Entries need to be in by the end of October.
Here is the sketch:

And here is my take.

I decided to stay pretty close to the original but just tilted the papers a bit. Instead of using paper for the two horizontal strips I used a piece of yellow spotty ribbon and a line of red tickets.

Here are a couple of close ups of my clusters.

In this one I used a PP red bookpaper round, a small PP green truck button, half a blue vinyl cog which I tucked under the button and a made a couple of flags out of yellow starry and red heart washi tape.

My other cluster includes a PP yellow spotty denim lollipop flower, a red crocheted doily and a tiny green spotty button with another bit of blue vinyl cog tucked under the button.

Well that's it from me for today. Hoping you will join us in this month's sketch challenge.

Scraptherapy Oct Sketch

Hi, hope you had a great weekend. I went to the Sewing and Craft Show at Caulfield with my DD yesterday. There was a great mix of crafts and we bought quite a few things to do. We also listened to a very informative talk by Julia Taylor from Masterchef about icing a cake with butter icing. Learnt a few tricks of the trade there.

I did find time to do a little scrapping. Here is my take on the October sketch challenge at Scraptherapy

and here is the sketch we had to work from.

October 123 challenge

The criteria for the October challenge at 123 challenge were: to use the colour school bus yellow, use the word miss in your title or journalling and strips of paper.

My daughter recently took part in the cake decorating competition at school for the Royal Melbourne Show. This is a photo of her next to her cake of Daisy Duck at the Show.

I took inspiration from the colours of her cake which were pink and yellow. I started by smearing hot pink and school bus yellow paint on my white cardstock with an store card. I then used strips of Amy Tangerine Sketchbook pp and some matching embellishments.  I found lots of Purple Pumpkin products to match too.

Here is a close up of the cluster.

I have used a yellow spotty button top, a cup cake button, a fuchsia ticket and some pink and yellow twine.  I have also used a pink spotty button, some more twine and some yellow star washi.

Enjoy your week!

The Scrapbook Shop Oct sketch

Here is my take of the October sketch challenge over at The Scrapbook Shop.

I took inspiration from the colour of the flowers of Eleanor's hat. I have used lots of my handmade felt flowers and also found space to include a couple of Purple Pumpkin buttons - the XL butterfly button and the snail button. The pp is mainly My Little Shoebox with a piece of Echo Park (pink).
