A new challenge is up at Scrapbook Boutique. The criteria was to use ribbon and/or a bow.

I decided to make a simple card including both ribbon and a bow using some pretty MME paper and velvet ribbon.

Why not have a go for a chance to win $30 voucher. Comp closes 31st Aug.

Busy, busy, busy

It's been a busy couple of weeks. Firstly, thanks to all those that made the crafters market at Top 50 so successful. I did a roaring trade. I've also spent the last 2 weekends at the Open for Inspection at The Block. The first week there were 30,000 there and we queued for a couple of hours but left without seeing anything. This last weekend DD and I went early and the queue was only 50m long. We had a fun morning. DD got her photo taken with nearly all the contestants and Scotty Cam and also got autographs, a free Block cap and teeshirt. The busyness continues with DD's 13th birthday looming on the weekend and a party for 13! Tomorrow I'll be cleaning the house and baking including making a rabbit shaped cake.

So I haven't had much time for scrapping. But I did manage to get one of the challenges done over at Scrapbooking Top50. This was Sue's challenge which was to use a colour combo - blue/yellow or pink/green. I opted for the blue/yellow. We also had to use muted forms of these colours, a punch or die cut and paint/glimmermist or ink. I used white paint and marshmallow glimmermist but they are difficult to see.

Also here is the reveal of my last weekly challenge as Guest Designer at Scrapz.biz. I had a scrap it blind challenge and here is my final layout using Little Yellow Bicycle - Sweet Summertime.

Location, Location Wk 1

Scrapz.biz has a new competition started last week - Location, Location. For the first weeks challenge we had to take a photo of our shopping basket or trolley and scrap it. We also had to include a docket on the layout, a tag and the word basket or trolley. I must admit it was a bit daunting taking a photo in the supermarket. I managed to find an aisle with no one in and quickly whipped out my camera to take a shot! I decided to do a layout about 'Twiglets' my all time favourite snack which are made in the UK. I recently discovered that my local supermarket had started a special UK section and they were stocking Twiglets at a very reasonable price - much lower than the speciality shops in the city. Since then, every time I go in this particular supermarket I pop a couple or more bags into my basket.
BTW Twiglets are wholewheat sticks with a marmite like substance in splodges all over them. They are an acquired taste I'm told. DH hates the smell of them but the kids love them.

For my layout I used some Lily Bee Hello Sunshine pp and chipboard embellishments. I also made a raffia flower and used a couple of spotty Purple Pumpkin buttons. I included my tag and docket and finished it off with some red and white bakers twine.

Lime Tree Creations July Challenge

The July challenge over at Lime Tree Creations was to scrap a holiday layout and of course include some Lime Tree Creations. I scrapped these photos of DS in the pool on holiday in Renmark last year. I have included 2 crocheted flowers under the Purple Pumpkin fish buttons.

Scrapz.biz 3rd weekly challenge

Last week I had the Paint a rainbow colour challenge to set and the theme was Pamper me. I decided to create my own citrus pamper pack colours of lemon, lime and orange.

And here is the sample I created. I also set the added criteria of having to wrap something on your layout. I wrapped some twine around my frame.

This layout uses a mix of Echo Park Stripes and Dots and
LYB Sweet Summertime pp. I also used a MME Fly a Kite frame and twine. I also included some corrugated stars and some Purple Pumpkin buttons.

Out of the Hat July challenge

The challenge this month was to have negative space, a doiley and a monochromatic layout with white and black allowed. I went with the brown theme again as I have a lot of photos of trees at the moment as we've been out bushwalking a bit. These are of the Otways where we went on the tree top walk a couple of weeks a go.

I managed to poke in a little brown doiley which I coloured with glimmermist.
