Scrap Our Stash May challenge #14

Today I have a layout to share for the Stash Challenge #14 at Scrap Our Stash featuring lots of FWAB adhesive pearls. The challenge is to include something old (older than 6 months) something new (less than 6 months old), something fussy cut and something blue.
My daughter has been a big fan of the Western Bulldogs for many years but had never been to see a live footy match. Over Easter her best friend, who comes from a family of avid Bulldogs fans invited her to go to the footy with them. She enjoyed the match even though the Bulldogs lost.
My something old was the journal spot and material that I bought from D-lish Scraps for Australia Day 2013. My something new was the Charms Creations Star, my something fussy cut was the zig zag cut from chevron paper and I used lots of blue.

I used lots of FWAB adhesive pearls in bluered and pearl.
Here are some close ups:

Don’t forget you can get packs of these adhesive pearls for just $1.25 this month as there is 50% off for the whole of May.
Thanks for looking

Scrap the Boys May challenge

This months challenge over at Scrap the Boys was to get grungy/messy.

Well I certainly did that using a mixture of gelatos and black Dylusion spray, The Crafters Workshop stencils, Kaisercraft stamp and Viva Decor Ferro texture paste to create the background. I then matted my photo on some black cardstock and corrugated card. The photo was framed with a Blue Fern chipboard circle piece that I coloured with black Dylusion spray and then partly embossed with black embossing power. I had intended to emboss it all but somehow managed to lose the embossing powder in the middle of the process (I later discovered that it had rolled along the floor into another room). So I just used the excess powder I had and it made it more grungy being partly embossed. To finish off I added some metal washers and Charms Creations chevrons.

As soon as DD and I heard the quote from Batman off the Lego Movie that he only works in black and sometimes v v dark grey, we immediately thought of my son who only wears black or grey.

Here are a couple of close ups.

Thanks for looking.

Frosted Designs Spring has sprung challenge

Second post today. I managed to make another pop up card this afternoon in time for the Frosted Designs Spring has Sprung Challenge. The challenge was to use at least 3 things from this list

I made a pop up card and managed to use - bunny, jellybeans (on balloons), green card, rainbow, clouds, umbrellas, birds (on pp), yellow, blue.
I'm afraid it's a pretty crappy photo as the sun had gone down by the time I came to photograph it so had to use a flash. Will post some close ups tomorrow.

I used Doodlebug Springtime pp and stickers.
Here are some day time photos of same card.

Thanks for looking.

White with 1 May challenge

Yay, I've scrapped my first non DT layout in 2 months. I really loved the colour for this months White with 1 challenge - Gold with white. It was difficult what to use as I seem to have accumulated quite a bit of gold things lately.  Anyway this is what I created :

It was a big birthday last month and to make it more memorable I decided to do something memorable. I went on the Tall Orders experience at Werribee Zoo which included feeding the giraffes, one of my favourite animals. It was quite an experience. They are incredibly strong when pulling leaves from the branches you are holding. They also have incredibly long tongues and I had one wrapped around my hand when feeding them carrot.
Here are a couple of close ups. I used a FWAB flower here, some gold painted chipboard and cut out some leaves from gold foil card using a Spellbinders die.

I got back into using stencils. This was a new one I bought recently. I used some Viva Decor Gold texture paste. Didn't quite turn out as gold as I thought it would.

I also used some gold craft wire to encircle the photo. This is really easy to manipulate. I attached the wire with a few stitches using gold thread. Another technique I tried on this layout was foiling. In the bottom left  hand corner you can see some gold that looks a bit like embossing. But I used some glue and a stamp and then put some gold foil on top. I'm not sure I had the right glue but it looked ok for what I wanted.

Anyway, thanks for looking and hopefully I will get a lot more scrapping done this month.

Welcome May. FWAB Card

Can't believe it's May already. I only scrapped one layout last month, and that was for a DT assignment. I think I've only done 3 in the last 2 months but now with a new month and some new challenges and some new photos I'm raring to go again.
Whilst, I didn't do many pages I did make quite a few cards. My son is turning 18 and has been going to a few 16 and 18th birthday parties this year and my daughter is turning 16 and has a lot of friends 16th birthday parties to go to.
I've decided that I'm going to make them all cards so today I have a card to share that I made for FWAB for her to give to one of her friends, along with a matching envelope.
I saw the basic  design  for this pop up box card on Splitcoaststampers. You can find a tutorial on how to make one here.

I adapted the design and added cupcakes and small stars suspended on pieces of acetate.
I decorated the cupcakes with FWAB Rose pink adhesive pearls.

I decorated the opening panels with a FWAB Grace Pearl Flourish in Rose Pink cut up into 3 pieces which fit perfectly on the panels.

To finish it off I designed and made up my own envelope from a piece of 12 x 12 paper. I added some ribbon and a cup cake decorated with rose pink pearls and FWAB olive green adhesive pearls.
Thanks for looking.
