A2Z Scraplets November Papercraft Challenge

Hi everyone,

I've been a bit quiet lately as I have been back working full time again. I'm having a short break before going back to work until Christmas.

I just wanted to share the November Challenge over at A2Z Scraplets

This month we want you to scrap your paper souvenirs from your last holiday. You don't even have to include A2Z Scraplets chipboard on your entry. The winner will win a goodie bag full of A2Z Scraplets products.

Here is my DT sample. I used some tickets from Madame Tussauds in Sydney :

I used a A2Z scraplets Hello

an A2Z Scraplets arrow

And an A2Z Scraplets distressed diamond stencil.

D-Lish Scraps October Inspiration Board

Hi, Loved the colours of the D-Lish Scraps October Inspiration Board as soon as I saw them last weekend but unfortunately missed out on a Just Add Paper kit as had to go out that evening.
Even so I decided to get into the challenge last weekend and have only now found time to post my page.

At one point I thought this might be the last photo I have of Smudge as he disappeared for about 10 days but he turned up again a couple of days ago. He stayed around for 2 days and has disappeared this afternoon. Most odd.

I was inspired by arrows, the pluses, the chevrons and the triangles as well as the colours of course!

Here is the inspiration board.

Charms Creations Mid Monthly Challenge

Two layouts in 2 days! I discovered I'd forgotten to add the 2 cute flags from the D-Lish Scraps Just Add Paper kit to my layout I did yesterday for the Inspiration Board Challenge and as I had a few other things left over, some matching paper and a photo I hadn't used sitting on my desk I decided to use them up for the Mid Monthly Challenge over at Charms Creations.

PicMonkey Collage

I decided to choose the bottom row  as I really wanted to journal about Robert and his unwillingness to sleep.

Stuck?! Sketches May 1st Sketch

Hi, back with another layout- one I completed last week but which I've only had time to photograph today.
This one is for the May 1st sketch over at Stuck?!. I kept pretty much to the sketch. I used the balloons in the top right hand corner for my colour inspiration. I have used some Amy Tan papers and a Super Star from Charms Creations. We made our usual pilgrimage to The Block Open for Inspection a couple of week ago. There was certainly less of a crowd this time. Eleanor had her photo taken with Jess and Ayden.

And here is the sketch it is based on:

Charms Creations Mid monthly challenge April - May

Well, I have all my DT work for this month out of the way and have really been itching to scrap some challenges.
I decided to start with the Mid Monthly challenge at Charms Creations which was a mood board inspiration challenge.

I'm on a bit of an economy drive so decided to delve into my scrap stash for this one except for the Charms Creations Heavenly Heart with butterfly, which was a very recent purchase and only arrived yesterday!

So here goes:

I got a macro lens for my birthday last month and managed to persuade my daughter Eleanor to pose for me so got a few nice shots of her. She was wearing a teal dress but it came out aqua in the photos so I decided to make it sepia to go with this old Prima Madelaine collection. I also pulled out lots of flowers from Flourish with a Bling, Prima and Kaisercraft.

And some close ups:

My Charms Heavenly Heart with wooden butterfly. Love the colours of this one.

I created my background by stencilling using some Viva Decor crackle medium and then mixed two gelatoes with water and painted on the background.

An old Kaisercraft silk flower made a good background and there is a wooden heart from Typo.

More flowers and some chipboard from Prima then went with the collection.

And here is the inpiration board

I really enjoyed making this one.

Challenge YOUself #16

Just scraping this one in. Another layout I started a couple of weeks ago was this one for Challenge YOUself #16 which was to scrap a page about your bucket list. I have taken a slightly different slant on this and scrapped about the photographs I would like to take.

Anyway, here is my page using a mix of Prima All About Me and Echo Park Creative Agenda.

And a couple of close ups including a Charms Creations mini heart (looks a little red in this photo but it is actually pink!)

Scrap the Boys March Challenge

The challenge this month at Scrap the Boys is to use this sketch.

Here is my take:

I have always loved using bright colours and felt this photo warranted them to match the bright colours of the rainbow lorikeet sitting on my son's shoulder. I used a mix of patterned papers from Doodlebug and dug around in my embellishment stash for the embellies.
I used an old Purple Pumpkin fabric button and an old fimo bird on a pin. The wooden button is from Jillibean Soup. The enamel dots were from D-Lish Scraps and I used some star shaped clips and a couple of mini brads to hold down my date.

I also used a brand new embellie - felt arrow from Charms Creations.

Happy Scrapping

Jot February Mood Board

This month I decided to play along with the Mood Board over at Jot Love is in the Air. As my son has recently acquired a girl friend I now have lots of photos of them together. In fact I can hardly get any shots of him on his own now.

Anyway, here is my take on the board:
I was inspired by the colours and the word Love and the hearts and the stripes and the touches of gold so did a love inspired layout.
I used some paper that was on my desk, which went well with the theme. I also used a mini heart from Charms Creations.

And here is the mood board.

123 Feb challenge and some exciting news

First my exciting news. You might have noticed some changes to my side bar or seen my news on Facebook. I am now a member of the design team for Scrapbook Boutique. It's a great online store selling not only scrapbooking items, but a lot of cardmaking and mixed media items. I am going to have fun playing with them.

Now onto my layout. The challenge over at the 123 challenge blog is to use primary colours, the word duo and glitter.
Here is my take:

I love using primary colours - you always end up with a fun layout. I used duo in my title and have used some glitter stickers from Me and My Big Ideas and some glittery alphas in my title.

I also used some clouds from Charms Creations and a couple of fimo clouds.

Charms Creations Jan challenge

The January challenge over at Charms Creations was to use a Charms Creations map marker and include a location on your creation. I didn't think I had any in my stash but when I found the gold star on the previous layout I noticed there was a map marker in with the set of gold embellies. I loved the pink/blue/gold combo that I used on my Sassy Scrapper layout and as I still had the Prima papers from the All about you collection decided to use them for this layout as well.
Anyway here is my take on the challenge:

This time I added some mint and yellow which were also part of this collection.
Here are a couple of close ups:

Scrap the Boys May challenge

This months challenge over at Scrap the Boys was to get grungy/messy.

Well I certainly did that using a mixture of gelatos and black Dylusion spray, The Crafters Workshop stencils, Kaisercraft stamp and Viva Decor Ferro texture paste to create the background. I then matted my photo on some black cardstock and corrugated card. The photo was framed with a Blue Fern chipboard circle piece that I coloured with black Dylusion spray and then partly embossed with black embossing power. I had intended to emboss it all but somehow managed to lose the embossing powder in the middle of the process (I later discovered that it had rolled along the floor into another room). So I just used the excess powder I had and it made it more grungy being partly embossed. To finish off I added some metal washers and Charms Creations chevrons.

As soon as DD and I heard the quote from Batman off the Lego Movie that he only works in black and sometimes v v dark grey, we immediately thought of my son who only wears black or grey.

Here are a couple of close ups.

Thanks for looking.
