D-Lish Scraps October Inspiration Board

Hi, Loved the colours of the D-Lish Scraps October Inspiration Board as soon as I saw them last weekend but unfortunately missed out on a Just Add Paper kit as had to go out that evening.
Even so I decided to get into the challenge last weekend and have only now found time to post my page.

At one point I thought this might be the last photo I have of Smudge as he disappeared for about 10 days but he turned up again a couple of days ago. He stayed around for 2 days and has disappeared this afternoon. Most odd.

I was inspired by arrows, the pluses, the chevrons and the triangles as well as the colours of course!

Here is the inspiration board.

It's been a while I know

since I last blogged but things are about to change. I am just starting on a new Design Team for A2Z Scraplets and so will be regularly blogging for them and I hope to get some none DT scrapping done too.
I've had a busy few months since I last blogged. I had a full time job for 6 weeks, my first since before my son was born in 1996. It was a bit of a shock and very tiring to begin with and it took me a couple of weeks to settle into a pattern. Then we went on holiday for a week to Sydney and then I made a Rapunzel outfit for my daughter for her muck up day in October and then had her 18th birthday party to organise. Now things are settling down again.

I'm just scraping this layout in for the August Inspiration Board at D'Lish Scraps. I've actually had it done for a week but only got around to photographing it. I loved the Just Add Paper Geometric Crush kit so used it for this.

And here are a couple of close ups

Whilst I'm here I might as well share a layout I did for last months cybercrop at The Scrap Suite. This was created for a recipe challenge which was to include 5 types of embellishments, 4 different patterned papers, a three word title, 2 photos and 1 journalling tag.

And some close ups:

And here is the inspiration board :

I took inspiration from the colours and the feathers, bird and be free quote. This is a layout about our first weekend away without the kids since they were born - 19 years!! I used the Just Add Paper kit plus a few other extra D-Lish embellishments.

Charms Creations Mid Monthly Challenge

Two layouts in 2 days! I discovered I'd forgotten to add the 2 cute flags from the D-Lish Scraps Just Add Paper kit to my layout I did yesterday for the Inspiration Board Challenge and as I had a few other things left over, some matching paper and a photo I hadn't used sitting on my desk I decided to use them up for the Mid Monthly Challenge over at Charms Creations.

PicMonkey Collage

I decided to choose the bottom row  as I really wanted to journal about Robert and his unwillingness to sleep.

A couple of close ups showing my Charms Creations star, glitter paste and twine.

D-Lish Scraps July Inspiration Board Challenge

Yah, I've managed to get a challenge done this month. I loved the look of the July Inspiration Board at D-Lish Scraps and managed to get one of the Just Add Paper kits. It's a while since I last got one, as I had been on the Inspiration Board design team and had already done my sample before the kits came out. It was well worth the money and I have used most of it on this page.

The only things I have added were the white cardstock background and the grey view finder, as the white one in the kit was a bit lost on the white cardstock and the wood veneer hashtag. I created my background by stamping some corrugated cardboard and paint and then stencilled the chevrons. I painted the wood veneer title and the cork stars. They are actually navy blue but look black in these photos.

Here are a couple of close ups:

And here is the inspiration board:

I was inspired by the stars, the chevrons and the view finders and of course the colours.

D-Lish Scraps Inspiration Board May 2015

Unfortunately, this is my last sample as a member of the Inspiration Team at D-Lish Scraps as Amanda has decided to disband it. I've had a good run being on for 3 seasons in 2 goes and I thank Amanda for that. The Inspiration Board challenge is still going to be held each month but there will just be samples form the normal design team from time to time.

Anyway to this months board Peach Kisses:

And here is my sample:
I created my background with some watercolour paint and stencilled some hearts using texture paste. I also used a few paper embellishments and sentiments from Kaisercraft. The rest is all D-Lish goodies.

And some close ups:

A mix of flowers, a sequin bow, a felt doily and some muslin.

A cat flair from D-Lish

Another cat flair, muslin, flower and mini heart sequins.

You can find full details of how to enter and the rules here.

Thanks for looking.

D-lish Scraps April Inspiration Board Challenge

Hi, we're nearly half way through the month so I thought I'd share my sample for the April Inspiration Board at D-lish Scraps. This month's Aztec Dreams is full of blue, pink, mint, white and hints of gold.

There is also a cool sketch and I decided to follow this fairly closely but also took inspiration from the feathers and the glitter in the envelopes.

Here is my sample:

For the background I used a gold metallic Gelato and some water and then stamped and gold embossed a background stamp.
I used some D-lish Scraps flowers in my cluster, along with a feathery flair button.

Some more flowers and flair button.

A glittery title and in the background a gold doily from D-lish.

I used Scrap Fx feather stamps and embossed one in gold and used glue and gold glitter for the other.

Finally, a gorgeous arrow shaped clip to finish off.

I hope that I have inspired you to get creative with this months board!
Be sure to share your creations with us via the link up tool on the D-lish Scraps blog

Remember that the sketch is totally optional, it's just there as a kickstarter if you need it. You can find all the rules for entering in the 'Current Inspiration Board' tab at the top of the page. And just a friendly reminder that layouts must be made exclusively for this challenge to be eligible for the prizes on offer.
The winner, as chosen by the Inspiration Team, will receive a $30 D-lish Scraps store voucher and one random entrant will receive next months 'Just Add Paper' kit for free!

Happy scrapping

D-lish Scraps March Inspiration Board

I'm lucky to be staying on for another term on the D-lish Scraps Inspiration Team. This month we have a gorgeous inspiration board to inspire you - Caribbean Skies full of teal, yellow, grey and white. Full details of the challenge and rules can be found on the D-lish Scraps blog here

I love this colour combo. I was inspired most by the frames in the bottom left hand corner so decided to use this as my basis for my layout.

I am also in love with Macaws at the moment too and the blue and yellow one's matched the colour scheme beautifully.
You can find lots of wood veneer frames in store and I painted these to match the colours of the board.  I also used some Pinkfresh Studio enamel label frames and some alphas I got in a Pinkfresh kit (which is no longer stocked). To fill in the gaps I stamped some frames.

Why don't you give it a go this weekend?

Feb Inspiration Board at D-lish Scraps

This months inspiration board at D-lish Scraps -  Beachside Bliss is full of cool colours - aqua mixed with pearl and white. I was inspired by the summery picture and the starfish.

Here are some close ups:
I used a piece of silver wire from D-lish and shaped it into my own word - Beach

There are some gorgeous pearl starfish in the shop. I coupled this with a white heirloom flower, a couple of blue spiral stamens, a silver filigree flower centre, a blue mini metal flower and a small white rose

I used some mother of pearl Viva Decor texture creme and a Kaisercraft template for the dots. It had a wonderful shine. You can also see an aqua arrow clip.

And here is the inspiration board

As always there is a Just Add Paper kit to go with the inspiration board. You can find this here:

Cheers
