February challenge at A2Z Scraplets Papercraft challenges

Thought I'd pop in and share this months challenge along with my take on it. This month the challenge is to scrap your world.  My family is my world but I decided to take a slightly tongue in cheek approach to the challenge and scrap some silly photos and a lot of the time that is all I get when trying to take photos of them!

And here's a close up of my A2Z Scraplets chipboard piece which I decided to leave naked.

Here's a reminder of the challenge:
Create a project featuring your world. There is no product criteria for your project, you can use chipboard if you have it (can be any brand). Please include any technique used for decorating your chipboard if you have used it. A2Z Scraplets chipboard available at http://www.a2zscraplets.com.au/
Entrants in the Challenge are asked to be a "liker" of our facebook homepage https://www.facebook.com/a2zscraplets this is not compulsory.
All entries must be created exclusively for the A2Z Challenge only and not combined with any other challenges
All entries are to be made brand new and the Challenge runs for the full month of February and is open to experienced as well as novice papercrafters. Tell us if this is your first ever challenge or your first A2Z Scraplets Challenge. A lovely packet of A2Z Scraplets Chipboard will be sent to the winner (as deemed by the A2Z Scraplets DT) and also something will be sent to any novice or first timer.
You can upload your entry to Facebook here:

Why don't you give it a go.

A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge

Hi,

I've been a bit quiet again. Still working - well at least for the next couple of weeks. Not sure what's happening after that. I think there may be more work on the horizon. I hope so as we are saving up to go to Europe next year.

Anyway a new challenge is up on the A2Z Scraplets Papercraft Challenge Facebook page and it is a sketch challenge for this month.

Here is my take:

And a couple of close ups

And here is the sketch I based it on:

Why don't you give it a go! You would win a goodie bag of A2Z Scraplets products.

Cheers

A2Z Scraplets first post and September monthly challenge

Hi,

I'm just sharing my first creation for A2Z Scraplets which I also did as a sample for the September monthly challenge. Poor Smudge is having a bit of a rough time at the moment. He has been going away for days on end and coming back with scratches. Everytime he doesn't appear in the morning I think he isn't coming back. He is nearly 5 years old which is pretty good for a feral cat.

You can find more details about my page on the A2Z Scraplets blog here

Here is the mood board from which I took inspiration for my layout.

If you feel like entering you can add your layout to the album on Facebook here .

Cheers

A2Z Scraplets Easter Challenges

This weekend I participated in an old style cybercrop run by A2Z Scraplets with a number of challenges being presented over the weekend and due by 9pm last night. It was the first one I'd participated in in ages. They used to be the norm when I first started scrapping and luckily due to the poor weather we stayed home Easter Sunday and Monday so I was able to get 6 of the 10 challenges done. It was great fun and got the creative juices flowing. So sorry for the long post but here are the 6 layouts I produced:
**All challenges included the use of at least one piece of chipboard**

Challenge 1 was a sketch challenge:

And here is the sketch it was based on:

I included an A2Z Scraplet monster on my page, which I painted white and added detail with black pen.

Challenge 2 was to include a hexagon on your page

I stencilled some hexagons using paint. I included a chipboard fence on my page.
Here is a close up of my cluster including a Charms Creations super star.

Challenge 3 was a tic tac toe challenge

I chose the left column and included chevrons, embossing and mixed media on my page.

And here are some close ups:
I added beads and Viva Decor texture paste to my layout.

I heat embossed the top of my chipboard letters. Originally, there were painted blue with white embossing but then realised the photos were more black/grey so swiped black ink over them which gave them a more grungy feel and fitted in better with the page.

Challenge 4 was a colour challenge

And here is my page:

And a couple of close ups:

My cluster including a chipboard bear and a Rainbow Splendour felt bow.

I used an A2Z Scraplet chipboard title which I painted yellow.

Challenge 5 was white with 1 other colour. I chose gold.

I had some gold and white project life cards on my desk so used a couple of them and found some other gold bits and pieces.

Some close ups:
A Charms Creations X and O

Some beads, gold thread, a tag and some die cut gold foil card.

A project life card, with some beads and gold thread.

Finally, Challenge 6 which was to do a layout about yourself.

I must admit by this stage I was feeling a bit scrapped out and don't really like the stamping on the finished layout as it was a bit rushed.

Anyway here's some close ups of the clusters including Peterloo flowers and some chipboard scrolls which I sprayed with black Dylusions. However, I sprayed them in a box lid that had some old Lindy's Stamp Gang green spray on it and the Dylusions loosened it so when I swiped up some of the surplus ink with my chipboard the green got onto it. It actually ended up with quite a nice effect.

If you've made it to the end. Thank You

Judith xx

A2Z Scraplets February Mood Board Challenge

With so many 'love' challenges around I thought I'd scrap another wedding photo. I was inspired by moodboard challenge over at A2Z Scraplets
2014 February Mood Board Challenge
I was particularly inspired by the centre heart.
Here is my take using some A2Z Scraplet hearts. I covered half of them in Shimmerz Dazzlerz texture paste and half with Flourish with a Bling adhesive pearls of different sizes. I decided to keep it fairly simple with the focus on the photo and the hearts.

Here are some close ups of the hearts. I inked the hearts before adhering the pearls.

Thanks for looking
