Scrap the Boys June challenge

The challenge this month at Scrap the Boys is to use  the sketch to inspire you.

This is my take:

I kept pretty much to the sketch replacing one of the photos with a journal card. I used Kaisercraft Off the Wall pp and embellishments. I created the background by painting some gesso. Then used a Crafters Workshop stencil and some Viva Decor Ferro graphite. I also used a Kaisercraft stamp and Distress Ink and a Prima stamp and Viva Decor white stamp paint. Lastly I embossed some silver blots and flicked some inks around the page.

Here are some close ups. A Charms Creations Super Star layered over some of the die cut star paper that came with the range.

I embossed some silver blots onto nude chipboard letters to look like splashes of water.

Here is the sketch:

D-Lish Scraps Inspiration Board June 2015

Hi, it's a while since I blogged but I have been scrapping. Here is my take on the June Inspiration Board over at D-Lish Scraps. I love the colours of this board

And here is my take:

Obviously I was inspired by the colours. I also used a cardstock film strip behind my photo and lvoed the chevrons. I used the Kaisercraft collection Shine Bright, a Charms Creations Heavenly Heart with Butterfly and lots of D-Lish goodies - the sequin bow, the doiley, the flair, the wire around shine bright and the Scrap FX stamp. I created my background using up some v old Making Memories alpha rubons. These were probably nearly 10 years old but they still worked fine!

Here are a couple of close ups:

I was inspired by the blue and gold and the dots.
I decided to make something a bit different this month - a box.
I made my box from black cardstock. I cut 2 pieces - 15cm x 18cm (top) and 17cm x 20cm (Bottom). Then scored 3 cm from each edge on the top panel and 4cm from each edge on the bottom panel.  Folded along the score lines and cut one slit in each corner. I then decorated my lid before assembling the box.
For the decoration I used my Bo Bunny Love stencil and an assortment of texture pastes. The blue butterfly is created using Imagine Crafts Creative Medium Iridescent Blue. The paste looks white but when you place it on black cardstock it dries this lovely blue. I used the Bo Bunny Pearl Pen to create the dots around the edge.

Hope this inspires you to have a go at the challenge.

Kraft+ May Challenge

Hi, I knew exactly what I was going to scrap when I saw the "KraftBoard" for the May challenge over at Kraft+. I had some photos on my desk of me feeding some deer at Halls Gap Zoo last year wearing a bright orange duffle coat.

Here is my layout:

And some close ups:

I used a mix of flowers - D-Lish Scraps, Peterloo, a home made string flower, some metallic flowers from my days at The Trinket Track, and some Kaisercraft small roses. I added some pieces of hessian and some hessian leaves.

I also had these cute wood veneer deer from D-Lish Scraps and added them around the page along with some chipboard and more flowers.

Another deer. For my background I stencilled some Imagine Crafts Creative Medium Copper Metallic paste which I got at Scrapbook Boutique. I stamped some wooden palings with a Kaisercraft stamp.

Here is the "Kraftboard"

I was inspired by the orange and green, the bottle with its hessian flower and the string tying up the books.

Thanks for looking.

Make a Wish for Scrapbook Boutique

This month at Scrapbook Boutique I have been playing with Echo Park Birthday Wishes boy range.  For my first layout I decided to use photos of my daughter to show how versatile this range is. It is not overly male orientated.

Close ups and more details of how I created this layout can be found on the Scrapbook Boutique Blog here

D-Lish Scraps Inspiration Board May 2015

Unfortunately, this is my last sample as a member of the Inspiration Team at D-Lish Scraps as Amanda has decided to disband it. I've had a good run being on for 3 seasons in 2 goes and I thank Amanda for that. The Inspiration Board challenge is still going to be held each month but there will just be samples form the normal design team from time to time.

Anyway to this months board Peach Kisses:

And here is my sample:
I created my background with some watercolour paint and stencilled some hearts using texture paste. I also used a few paper embellishments and sentiments from Kaisercraft. The rest is all D-Lish goodies.

And some close ups:

A mix of flowers, a sequin bow, a felt doily and some muslin.

A cat flair from D-Lish

Another cat flair, muslin, flower and mini heart sequins.

You can find full details of how to enter and the rules here.

Thanks for looking.
