Kaisercraft April challenge

I loved the April release of Indigo Blue by Kaisercraft and when I saw the mood board for this month's Kaisercraft blog challenge I just had to have a go.

Here is my take:

I watered down some Kaisercraft Country Blue Light paint and applied to my background using a plastic bag. I then used a Kaisercraft stencil and some blue texture paste and stamped with a Kaisercraft background stamp.

I the end I used a mixture of Indigo Blue diecuts and stickers with some paper from the Off the Wall release. I also used some Kaisercraft flowers.

Here are a few close ups:

And here is the mood board which I based my layout on.

Thanks for looking

Kraft+ April Challenge

It's been a long time between posts but I have finally managed to do a blog challange post - probably my first for six months. I have been doing DT work for A2Z Scraplets but don't seem to have had the time to do other scrapbooking.

This months challenge at Kraft+  was to use paint chips/swatches. I knew I wanted to use blues so raided the local hardware store for some chips. I was lucky as they had 3 types - round circles, strips of colours and just single chips.

Here's my entry. I used the circle chips, which I die cut into doilies in various places. I used the strips of colours down the side of my photo and at the side of the layout (though it is mostly covered up) and I used the big single chips at the top and bottom of my photo.

You can see one of my circle chips which I die cut into a doily peaking out here.

Scrapbook Boutique work using Kaisercraft Fairy Dust

Well, it's been a while since I posted anything and there's been a good reason. Sadly, my mum passed away last month and I went back to the UK for a couple of weeks to help my brother with arrangements and to go to the funeral.
I can't say I really feeling very motivated to scrap at the moment so here are a couple of layouts that went up on the Scrapbook Boutique Blog last month.

I kept this one pretty simple using just patterned paper, stamping and a few pieces from the collectables.

More details can be found here

The second one went up whilst I was away. This is a much more mixed media type layout.

Details of how I created this can be found on the Scrapbook Boutique blog here

Christmas card set for Scrapbook Boutique

This month at Scrapbook Boutique, I am playing with Kaisercraft Home for Christmas. For my first project I decided to make a set of Christmas cards showing how simple and easy it is to make using the Collectable diecuts that come along with the collection. More details on how I made these cards can be found here  My fellow Scrapbook Boutique DT member Linda Langes is coordinating the Caring Hearts Card Drive, which involves making cards to send to people in nursing homes. I have decided to get involved this year as it is close to my heart as my mum is in a nursing home on the other side of the world and having recently moved to a new one and unable to write cards this year I doubt she will be getting many. More details can be found on Linda's blog here

Here are some close ups of the cards:

Hopefully this gives you some inspiration to make your own Christmas cards or perhaps contribute to the Caring Hearts Card Drive
