Page Drafts Love is Everywhere sketch challenge

Nearly forgot to share this layout I created for the Page Drafts Love is Everywhere sketch challenge. I love Em's sketches so really wanted to have a go at this one. The criteria was to use one of the February release sketches and scrap about love. 

Here is my take. Another tribute to Midget.

I used Doodlebug Sweetheart collection.

Scrapbook Savvy February sketch challenge

It's also been a while since I participated in the sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy.

Here is my take:

I went for a bright mix of papers - Doodlebug Take Note and some very old Memento pp. I created the background myself using a mix of Kaisercraft background stamps and my favourite The Crafters Workshop stencil. I used some Shimmerz Dazzlers texture paste for the blue dots and added some yellow Dylusions to texture paste to create the yellow dots.

I also used a couple of handmade embellies from Rainbow Splendour (the felt chevrons)

And a Heavenly heart from Charms Creations.

Scrap the Boys February challenge

It's been a while since I played along with the challenge at Scrap the Boys  but this month I just managed to get it done on time. The criteria this month was to create a layout about your boy/s and someone special in their life. 

I found this lovely photo of Robert and his Dad from a few years back but I felt it showed the bond they have together. They often go out to the movies together and they're both into computing and like the same genre of TV and movies and although I know he loves me, I think he takes more note of his Dad, especially on the nagging front!

Anyway here is my layout. I love the way it has turned out. I used some old Basic Grey Oliver pp. I cut the dotty paper and then added some Viva Decor Graphite Ferro texture paste on top.

I love using washers as embellies.

CSI 111 and My Creative Sketches Feb Sketch

This is my third week of being Special Investigator at CSI and here is the sample layout I created for Case File 111 which I also created for my entry for this months sketch at My Creative Sketches. I went for another clean and simple look.

Here is the case file it was based on

My evidence is: polka dots, wood, stickers, border punch, sprinkles and 3 of something (2 pieces of wood, 3 words in the title)

My testimony is to journal about a childhood memory. My journalling reads: Every summer Hartley's ice cream van would come round our street 3 evenings a week. It used to toot it's horn and stop just down from our house. I would go and get ice creams for Dad and I. Dad would have a sandwich and I would usually have a '99' (ice cream cone with a chocolate flake on top) You could get 'flavour' put on top - a red syrup - but I wasn't too keen on it. I used to love that ice cream. It was locally made and is till in business today.

I kept fairly true to the sketch.

LESSology Challenge #33 Happy Mail

Back again with another layout to share. As soon as I saw this challenge on Lizzy Hill's blog I knew I had to have a go at it. The challenge is to use an envelope on your project and to recycle something. 

Last August, we went to see Pink in concert in Melbourne. It meant we had to stay the night as the concert finished too late to catch a train home and DH doesn't like driving late at night especially in the city. Eleanor had wanted to stay at The Langham ever since seeing it on The Block a few years ago. So we decided to surprise her (an extra birthday present as it was only a few days after her birthday). It lived up to her expectations but unfortunately we didn't actually get to spend too much time there. The kids weren't able to leave school early as my son had a VCE SAC so we didn't arrive in the city until after 5pm. Then we had to get something to eat. We checked into the hotel and soon it was time to go to the concert. We didn't get back until after midnight. Then my son left at 6.30am as he had a school chess tournament. Eleanor and I had breakfast with DH who works just round the corner and then left about 9am to get back to Bacchus Marsh as DD also insisted on going into school that day.

Anyway, I collected lots of momentos (as you do). I had an envelope, some writing paper and the information sheet that was on the bed when we arrived. There was also the key holder and a soap box from the bathroom. They had been sitting around waiting for me to do something with them.

So I used them on my page. 

The information sheet had the pink and gold on the back so I have used it as a base for my photos. I slipped the envelope behind it leaving the flap showing.

  

I wrote my journalling on the piece of notepaper and placed it in the envelope.

I stuck the key holder on my page and made a little mini album from the soap box.

I've included photos of Eleanor and The Langham.

Although the design may not be the greatest it's allowed me to use up my momentos and tell a story I've been wanting to scrap for a while.

A2Z Scraplets February Mood Board Challenge

With so many 'love' challenges around I thought I'd scrap another wedding photo. I was inspired by moodboard challenge over at A2Z Scraplets. 

I was particularly inspired by the centre heart.

Here is my take using some A2Z Scraplet hearts. I covered half of them in Shimmerz Dazzlerz texture paste and half with Flourish with a Bling adhesive pearls of different sizes. I decided to keep it fairly simple with the focus on the photo and the hearts.

Everyone on the FWAB design team was asked to be guest designers this month.

Here is my take on the mood board:

I just couldn't go past the colours and at the time I had been playing with my Twinkling H2O's so created my background using them on watercolour paper and a stencil. The Stars part of the title is was created using some left over pieces of chipboard and a gold Sharpie pen. I used FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourish in Antique Gold, FWAB Jasmin Laser Flourish in Gold and some FWABadhesive pearls in Plum.
