And this is February’s stunning mood board:
SATW guest FEB

Everyone on the FWAB design team was asked to be guest designers this month.
Here is my take on the mood board:

I just couldn't go past the colours and at the time I had been playing with my Twinkling H2O's so created my background using them on watercolour paper and a stencil. The Stars part of the title is was created using some left over pieces of chipboard and a gold Sharpie pen. I used FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourish in Antique Gold, FWAB Jasmin Laser Flourish in Gold and some FWABadhesive pearls in Plum.
Here is a close up of my FWAB laser flourish.

CSI #110 and Off the Rails Scrapbooking Feb 7 challenge

A couple of weeks ago we lost our beautiful Netherland Dwarf rabbit -  Midget. I know most people will probably think a rabbit is a rabbit, but he had such a big personality for such a little rabbit. In winter, he would flop down in front of the heater to keep warm and in the summer lie in the sunlight and sunbake. He was forever jumping on the couches and he was a bit partial to toast. He would wait at the boards every morning waiting for me to bring my daughter her toast. I would give him a little corner and sometimes he would do a vertical jump up to grab it out of my fingers. Sometimes when the mood took him he would try and steal my daughters toast. He would jump up on her and try and get to her plate to pull a piece of toast off. Just the day before he died he had actully managed to jump up onto her plate even though she was holding it up away from him.

Anyway this is my entry for the Off the Rails Scrapbooking challenge which is to scrap a page with a photo or memorabilia of a loved one.
It is also my sample for my special investigator over at CSI

And here is a close up of my cluster.

And here is the case file

As my evidence I used: pet accent, flowers, pearls, solid background and jewels. For my testimony I added jewels to my journalling spot.
My journalling reads: Rest in peace dear Midget. It is impossible to measure the happiness you brought. For such a small rabbit you had such a huge personality. We miss you.

Thanks for looking
Have a great weekend.

CSI Special Investigator for February

I haven't had much to share on my blog so far this month. Most of my layouts have been for DT work so can't share yet.
I was honoured to be asked to be a Special Investigator over at CSI this month.

The first challenge  for February Case File No. 109 is up and here is my take:

I decided to go with a clean simple layout this time. I used lots of Jillibean Soup pps on this one.  I used the colour palette. For my evidence I used book pages, silver accents (some label rims I've had forever), stack something (my paper and embellies below the photo). For my testimony I used one of the random questions which was about journal about your work.My journalling reads: For most of the last 10 years I have been lucky enough to work part time from home. Initially, we needed some extra cash as Robert was in between job. I wrote to my former employer Australian Council for Educational Research for a reference and they offered me some casual work from home. I'm able to vary how much work I get and at the moment it is my only source of income while I try to find another job in the library field. Every couple of months I get a batch of journal articles/chapters or conference papers which I have to catalogue, edit or write an abstract for and create subject index terms using the Australian Thesaurus of Educational Descriptors. I normally work from around 6am-10am with an hour or so break in the middle whilst I get the kids breakfast and off to school. Then the rest of the day is mine!

Here is the case file from which I worked.

Why not give it a go?

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge - winter blues

Good morning and welcome to February and a new batch of challenges. I decided to have a go at the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge - winter blues which was based on a mood board full of blues and whites. I wasn't feeling very wintery as it is in the high 30C's here so used the colours and created a birthday page. I love this photo of my DS. Where has this little boy gone!
I loved playing with straws last month on another challenge so decided to use some more on this layout as it went well with the theme.

Products used:
Jillibean Soup Owl Soup patterned paper, stickers, journalling sprouts and diecuts
Jillibean Soup alphas
Jillibean Soup place mat
Jillibean Soup twine
Kaisercraft background stamp
Flourish With A Bling pearls
Straws
Ric Rac

And here are some close ups

And here is the mood board:

I used blues and white with a touch of green and yellow. I also included a bird (owl).

Thanks for looking.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and hopes it's not too hot (or cold) where you are.
