Anna's Craft Cupboard March Sketch

Managed to scrap one more layout for last month. It's one I started a couple of weeks ago but the texture paste that I wanted to use with it had dried up :( , so I put it to one side. Determined to finish the layout I decided to make my own sand like texture paste by adding a bit of colour via some gelato to some texture paste and some gold glitter. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Anyway onto the layout.

We visited Clifton Springs early one morning to take some photos. The sea was beautifully calm and there was quite a dramatic sky to add to the beauty. I used the Kaisercraft Sandy Toes collection. I also got to use the beautiful Indigo Blu bubble background stamp

I'm back

Wow, I've been a bit slack over the last six weeks. My son has had his final VCE exams and I think I have been doing all his worrying for him and that seems to have affected my creative mojo. Now the exams are finished it seems to have miraculously reappeared and I have actually scrapped 2 pages in 2 days. Anyway I thought today I'd share with you a couple of pages from last month. In fact they were the only 2 pages I did last month.
The first I did for The Scrapbook Store sketch challenge using lots of Flourish with a Bling.

Anyway, onto my layout:

I have layered some FWAB Jack Vines in green with some rhinestone flourishes which form part of FWAB Kate’s Corner Flourish in Silver

In the bottom cluster I have used two new flowers – a FWAB Elise flower in green and a small FWAB Maddison flower in lilac. I also used some more bits of Jack Vine and Kate’s Corner Flourish. They are all seated on a piece of grass out ofFWAB’s Lee’s Tree. You can also see I sprinkled a few purple adhesive pearls and silver rhinestones which also come out of the Kate’s Corner Flourish pack. I also used a rhinestone for the chipboard bunny’s eye!

In the middle cluster I used a FWAB Maddison flower in lilac together with a mix of other small flowers.

In the top cluster I have again used a FWAB Maddison flower in lilac but teamed it up with two FWAB Elise flowers in lilac. Again I added a few flowers from my own collection.

To finish off I added a few pieces of chipboard which I gessoed and coloured with a mix of Faber Castel gelatoes and stencilled some texture paste.

Anna's Craft Cupboard September Sketch challenge

Back to share with you my take on the sketch challenge over at Anna's Craft Cupboard this month.

Here is my take:

The photo is of my DD in one of the laneways which is famous for its graffiti in Melbourne.

I used a lot of Viva Decor Ferro on this one. I used gold for the stencilled brick work and on the chipboard arrow and iron on the cogs (which I then rubbed with a bit of gold buff).

And here are a few close ups.

I painted the chipboard title with Shimmerz paint and inked with gold.

A few pages based on sketches to end my 2013 layouts

Although I didn't get many pages done in December I did manage to get 3 sketch challenges done in the last week.

Shabby sunflowers and cork from The Trinket Track

Just sharing  a layout and I card I recently made using the wonderful shabby sunflowers and cork frames available at The Trinket Track now.

For my first project I used the sketch over at Annas Craft Cupboard as my basis. This is one of the first photos shoots I had done of my DS, when he was about 18 months. I've been on the look out for some sunflowers to coordinate with the sunflowers in the photo for ages so was delighted when Monica got some into the shop.

I have tried to create a visual triangle by creating 3 similar clusters of embellishments.

Here you can see the shabby sunflower and a different coconut button.

Here's another close up of the sunflower, along with a coconut button, cork frame and filegree windmill petal which I have tucked in behind the sunflower.

My second project was a card using similar embellishments. I again used the shabby sunflower and placed it between two cork frames.

Monica also sent me some flower pins so I decided to make my own tricket pin by added an acrylic heart, some metal beads and a glass pearl. 

I tucked the pin into the shabby sunflower and added a few beaded white sprays. 

I  added a few more trinkets including a coconut button, a resin curly rose and some metal filegree pieces.

Anna's Craft Cupboard October sketch challenge

Hi everyone from a windy but warm Victoria. Over the weekend I managed to get the sketch challenge done over at Anna's Craft Cupboard. Here is my take:

Products used: Echo Park:  Note to self Note patterned paper, alphas and stickers
