Scrapbookit September Challenge

Hi,
I have been on quite a scrapping roll this week so decided to give the Scrapbookit September challenge a go.
It included quite a lot of criteria :
Create a project/layout that includes the following:
*Masculine theme
*the words "My Hero" in the title
*4 patterned papers
*Washi tape
*Twine/Ribbon
*At least 1 handmade embellishment

I managed to fulfil all the criteria quite easily.
Here is my take:

I scrapped about my husband (male theme), I have "My Hero" in the title, my 4 patterned papers are the background paper, the grey, the navy and the striped paper. I matted my photo with some grey cardstock. I used some grey triangle washi tape. I used grey twine in my tag and around the flair button. I also used some grey ribbon. My handmade items are the tag, which I stamped a sentiment on and embelllished, and the heart from Charms Creations.

Here are some close ups:

My hand made tag, with a Charms Creations Heavenly Heart and a steampunk charm.

An October Afternoon Flair button, one of the arrows I created by stamping onto patterned paper and cutting out, my favourite Scrap FZ stamp, and some stencil work using a Crafters Workshop stencil and some Viva Decor Graphite Ferro.

I stamped and embossed the silver circles and a few washers for effect.

Thanks for looking.

The Scrapbook Store Sept sketch

One of my aims this month (apart from doing more scrapping than last month) is to use some of those paper collections that I have bought and never got around to using for one reason or another. I bought this collection from Carte Bella for the sole purpose of scrapping my son and his participation in a chess tournament last year but never got any photos. He was selected to be captain this year but unfortunately I didn't get any photos again so managed to set up a chess board and get him to sit next to it when he got home from school, so I could at least get a chess themed photo!
Anyway, here is my layout. I decided to keep it fairly simple.

And a couple of close ups:

And here is the sketch from The Scrapbook Store that I based my layout on.

Challenge Yourself

Just managed to scrape this in by the skin of my teeth. The challenge was to scrap your age. This year was a big one for me - turning 50 but there is a lot to enjoy about being that age. Here is my take anyway.

And a few close ups. I made some matching felt flowers.
Loving this Scrap FX chippy corner.

Using my new Scrap FX stamp bought at Paperific last weekend.

Guest designer at Rainbow Splendour

Back near the beginning of the year Chloe asked me if I'd like to be a guest designer for Rainbow Splendour. That time has now come. I'm guest designer for September and October and my first page has just gone live at the Rainbow Splendour blog. I would love you to check it out and leave a comment.
In the mean time here's a sneak peak

Thanks

FWAB / Rainbow Splendour Product Swap

Last week over on the FWAB blog we had a week of projects using Flourish with a Bling and Rainbow Splendour products. Chloe who is on the Design Team at FWAB is the owner of Rainbow Splendour and she supplied us with some of her cute felt and die cut products to use. Be sure to go to her blog and check her work out.
Here is what I created:

Rainbow Splendour products used were a black glitter foam poloroid frame and a couple of white glitter foam feathers.

 I also created a card

For this I used the the remaing flourishes and the frame from FWAB Bella Rhinestone flourishes and I matched this with Rainbow Splendour feathers in white, black and spotty vellum and a grey felt bow. Here are a couple of close ups.

Hope to be back tomorrow to share something special.

MIA and FWAB August challenge

Hi, August is just one of the craziest months for me. Happens every year just like December. I have my wedding anniversary, daughter's and husband's birthday. Add to this going round university open days with my kids (as DS is in Year 12), parent information nights and everything else I don't seem to have had much time for scrapping this month.
Anyway, I'm here to share a layout I did last month this month's challenge over at Flourish with a Bling. It is my month to set the challenge and I chose a tic tac toe type challenge.
August 2014 challenge
The challenge is to use items from either a column or a row (no diagonals) and include a FWAB product. The FWAB item can be one of your tic tac toe items or extra.

And here is my sample:

I went with the first column: Flower, Washi, Animal and Bow.
I have used FWAB Maddison flower chocolate, and FWAB Trent’s Fence, using the darker coloured fence and one piece of grass which I cut in two.
Hope you can play along!  Please upload your creations to the relevant FWAB GALLERY by midnight 31st August to be in the draw to win some fantastic FWAB goodies!!
Happy scrapping :)

Sassy Scrapper July mood board

Hi, I've managed to find time this month to join in with the mood board challenge over at Sassy Scrapper. I loved the mix of colour of mint, black and gold. As I didn't really have any people photos which would go with this colour mix I decided to scrap about my camera, which I got for my last birthday.

I created a background using watercolours and stamped and embossed the circles in gold. I obviously took inspiration from the colours. I added some gold glittered washi tape inspired by the glittery eyelashes and created my own brush script card inspired by the brush script quote.

Here is the mood board on which my layout is based.
