Scrap Around the World October challenge

Good morning  I have a layout for you using some Trinket Track goodies. I was inspired to create this layout for the Scrap Around the World challenge this month using the lovely new Anna Maria patterned paper from Prima. I created my doily background using some texture paste and a Kaisercraft mask.

I have used 3 different flowers from the shop - Manor House Creations - Mayglo; Green Tara - white paper roses; and Sequin flower - Spearmint.

A filigree butterfly and pearl flower centre.

and a wooden frame

I also scattered some loose pearls on my page.

Here is the mood board for this month. I was inspired by the top right hand photo of the pink flowers (which reminded me of the pink MHC flowers) and the doilies and also the floral china in the bottom right hand photo.

Thanks for looking.

Giddy Up

Good afternoon here is a page that I created last weekend on my first scrapbooking retreat. It went up on the Purple Pumpkin blog yesterday.
This is my daughter having a pony ride at the local Melbourne Cup Day in the Park show. Sadly, it is no longer run. I wanted to create a kind of cowboy/wildwest feel the layout. I used October Afternoon Sasparilla patterned paper and stickers. I added some hessian, corrugated card and some chicken wire stencilling to make it a little more rugged. Then I added some Purple Pumpkin embellies to match.

Here a few close ups.

An inked red ticket.

A close up of my cluster, which includes a red ticket, a kraft tag, the brown rolled flowerXL cowboy button and brown twine.

Purple Pumpkin October Sketch

Welcome to a new month. There are a few changes over at Purple Pumpkin this month. For one, Sam has decided not to have a Design Team Call until December so that means I'm staying on until the end of December :)
We have a couple of new faces joining for the next 3 months. Check out the Purple Pumpkin blog to find out who they are.

Something that hasn't changed is that it's time for a new sketch.

Here it is:

And here is my take:

We went to the Tulip Festival at Tesselaar's a couple of weekends ago. It was somewhere I had been wanting to go for years. DH isn't too keen on driving on that side of Melbourne so we'd never been. Then I discovered you could get there by public transport so we made the long haul there - 2 1/2 hours each way by train and bus. It was worth it though. The tulips were magnificent.

Here a couple of close ups. Luckily, I had a fabric tulip button in my new DT stash.

Here's another older fabric button and an orange yo yo flower.

Another close up of the flowery fabric button, and the rose lace trim. I also wanted to show that I used some tranparency on the top half of the layout as it doesn't show up too well in the main photo.

You have until the end of the month to complete this Sketch Challenge and link it up in our sidebar by midnight 30th of September 2013. There will be two fabulous Purple Pumpkin prizes!
$25 & 15$ to spend in the Purple Pumpkin shop - one winner will be chosen by the design team, and the second will be a random prize draw. Winner gets to Guest Design in a future month - once they have received their Purple Pumpkin product of course!

Please check out our RULES:

*This is an international blog so anyone in the world can enter.
*You may combine challenges as long as you follow our sketch (only and not other similar to ours) with a link back to our blog and a picture of the sketch.

Teresa Collins - Family Stories - a couple of layouts

I seem to have been buying a lot of Teresa Collins' collections lately. I love the thickness of the paper and the colours and designs. Recently, I bought the Family Stories Collection with a voucher I won.
Here are a couple of layouts I produced with the collection.
First up is one I did using lots of Purple Pumpkin goodies. This was for the sketch challenge over at Anna's Craft Cupboard.
I've had this photo waiting to be scrapped for a while. It was taken last year when my FIL came to visit from Mildura, the first time he has been down since moving up there in 2003. As we don't see him that often, we decided to get a family photo. I decided to go with something a bit more simple in style this time.  The colours in the Teresa Collins Family Stories Collection were perfect and I found some Purple Pumpkin embellishments to match.

Here I have layered two Purple Pumpkin vinyl hearts with an orange ticket.

Some black loops washi tape, orange vinyl cog and pink fabric button.

Some more black loop washi tape.

Second up is a layout I did for the Sketch challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy.
This is one celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Photo taken by DD at the front of our house.

And a couple of close ups.

Thanks for looking.

Peacock - FWAB style

Here is a colourful layout I shared on the FWAB blog last week.
On this layout I used two different Dylusion sprays – Fresh lime and Calypso Teal. I then sprayed water through a stencil and blotted it to get the background effect. I then added my photos matted on cardstock and added my FWAB bling in suitable peacock colours.
I used a FWAB Jasmine Puffy Flourish in Teal, and FWAB Chloe Pearl Flourishes in Olive Green and Blue. I also added some of the spare pearls on the corners. I didn’t quite have enough blue pearls so used some from theAdhesive Pearl Pack – 100 Blue to create my own blue pearl flourish above the smaller photo. To finish off I added two black FWAB flowers – one from the Maddison range and one from the Elise range.
 Here are some close ups
