Some cybercrop entries

My scrapping mojo has been very up and down lately. I have hardly done any scrapping in the last week but did manage these layouts the week before.
Wicked Princesses
I entered a couple of challenges in the recent Wicked Princesses cybercrop.

This first one was based on a sketch. We also had to use the colour of party food as an inspiration. I choose fairy bread - white with bright colours. This is another layout with Bo Bunny Popsicle.


My second layout was for Kayla's challenge, which had to be a birthday page and include Bling. I have been wanting to scrap this photo from Eleanor's birthday party last year for ages and when I saw the new Fancy Pants Dancing Girl pp, I knew it would go with this photo. I'm pleased to say this layout won the challenge and was in their newsletter.

Scrapbooking Top 50

Over at Scrapbooking Top 50 they have been having a retro cybercrop. I managed to get 4 challenges done this month after bombing out the last couple of months.

First challenge was based on the 80's. Had to use bright colours, a fashion theme, tearing, lace and staples. I decided to scrap about some shoes Eleanor has seen at the weekend. I bought them during the week for her for Christmas so hope she doesn't see this!

The second challenge was based on the 70's - hand decorated white cardstock, bling and a minimalist approach. I glimmer misted the cardstock.

The next challenge I tackled was No. 5 based on which was base on criteria we had selected via pictures. I drew - sting, an altered photo, ledger background paper and bling.

Finally, I did Challenge 6 based on the how time flies. We had to use bright colours, circles, title and subtitle, bling and the creation had to be either a double layout or OTP or mini album and show a time line. I chose to do a selection of photos of Eleanor from 1-10. Not sure it turned out quite how I would have liked but I suppose it shows what I want it to do.

I've been busy

Unfortunately, not scrapping. I've been doing some extra days work and weekends seem to have been busy too. However, I do have a few pages and cards to show .

First up is for Sue's Top 50 scrapbooking monthly challenge. We had to use at least 2 shades of blue, a black and white photo, chipboard and buttons.


I have done a couple of challenges for TSE's October Cybercrop. First is a card for Jaimee's challenge which had to be either pink or blue, use animals, a shaped button and repeated words. The paper for this is some I picked up on our holiday in Perth at Riot. Was very cheap but great for cutting up.



Ngaire's challenge was to use green, a tag, a frame and to try and scrap about the wonder of discovery of children. I used a piece of Prima pp and some flowers that I recently received in a giveaway I won from the very generous Janine Koczwara.



Next up is my entry for the first week of Scrapper of Oz over at Scrapbiz. Our criteria were to create a layout about somebodies dream/hopes, create a scene, use all the colours of the rainbow and an element of movement. Normally, this is the sort of layout I would shy away from but I wanted to do something different and ended up really enjoying putting it all together. I have used bits and pieces from a lot of different manufacturers - Sass lass, Crate Paper, MME, Prima, Maya Rd, and My Little Shoebox.



This one is for Sara's October Random Challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy. The criteria were to use a photo larger than 6 x 4, at least 3 different patterned paper and a rubon. I used Sassafras Lass Me Likey.

Finally, this is the layout I did for my guest DT spot at Out of the Hat last month.

No I haven't dropped off the face of the earth

I have just been rather busy and have just come back from a weeks holiday in Perth. We had a good time. We did and saw heaps. The weather could have been a little better. It was rather windy and there were a few showers but we did have some nice sunny days too.
I decided to enter the Scrapbook Savvy DT comp so that is what all my scrapping energy has been going into the last 3 weeks. It has been a great comp with some really challenging challenges.

Week 1

For the first challenge part 1 we had to create our own challenge and do a sample. The criteria I chose were
- use at least one circle
- use at least 3 photos
- include a bird somewhere on the layout

The second part of the challenge involved being allocated someone elses challenge. I got Hayles whose criteria were:
- produce a 12 x 12 layout
- include at least 3 embellishments
- include a hand made embellishment
- title must be a song title from the 1980's.

Week 2

This week we had to pick a product/s that are on sale in the Scrapbook Savvy Store and then we own and produce a review of that product. I chose to do the Sassafras Lass Monstrosity Line. Unfortunately, I only had 3 of the 6 papers but did have the journal stickers and sweet treat stickers too. I was able to produce 3 layouts and 2 cards showing the versatility of this line. In fact I really enjoyed using this line and will have to get the missing papers I think.

Week 3

This was the most stressful for me, as I didn't come back from Perth until 8.30pm on Wednesday and the challenge was due in Friday at noon. DH was home Thursday and we had lots of things to do and I had an appointment on Friday morning plus DD was having trouble sleeping so didn't get much sleep Wednesday night. However, I managed to complete the task with hours to spare.

Our challenge this week was to produce a layout using the Scrapbook Savvy banner for inspiration. We also had to:

- produce a layout about ourselves

- include the quote 'She was an artist and her life was her canvas' on the layout

- include handwritten journalling

- include a handmade flower

We also had to provide step by step instructions on how to produce the flower.

Now Sar has the decision to choose 2 new DT members. Don't know how I'll go as there were some talented ladies also taking part. I think I gave it my best shot and it was great experience.

A little more scrapping

Haven't really got much done in the last week or so. Mojo has been a little bit lacking and there's alot going on at the home front. We have finally decided to move DS from his current school to the local private school as he has finally had enough of the lack of discipline there. So I am currently waiting for a phone call from the principals assistant to arrange an interview with the principal.

At the end of last month was looking around for some challenges to do and the challenge at Out of the Hat caught my eye. You had to use circles, staples and bling. I used Kaisercraft Offshore PP and I'm pleased to say I was chosen to be the Scrapper in the Spotlight this month.

I also decided to do a couple of challenges at Ready, Set, Scrap.

This was for Shell's Negative Space challenge. We had to use circles, buttons and brads. I used Cosmo Cricket Snorkel pp.

This was for Lexie's number challenge. For this we had to use 1 piece of lace, 2 largish flowers cut from pp, 3 bows, 4 hearts, 5 rhinestones and 6 or more small flowers. I used some old MME Just Dreamy 2 pp for his one.

The first challenge I have attempted for this month has been the Stash Stomper over at Scrapboutique. For this we had to use up some chipboard. I have used some of my new Bo Bunny Delilah pp.

This week's scrapping

I was going to say my mojo had been a bit lacking but I've managed to do 5 layouts and 4 cards in the last week.

The first one was for TSE monthly sketch challenge using a sketch by Beth. Knew I'd use these photos as soon as I saw the sketch. I have used Crate Paper Prudence pp.

Scrapbook Savvy are having their cybercrop at the moment. It is ages since I've joined in the fun - probably since Sara took over from Di but some of the challenges interested me so had a go at some of them.

The first was Mel's lucky dip challenge - my criteria were use flowers, buttons, pearls and stars. This photo is of Eleanor last weekend. I used quite a few things from the product swap I've been participating in at Uproar. I chose to receive purple things as DD is purple mad and wears purple 90% of the time.

Next I did Emma's challenge, which was to use some non scrapping items on your layout. I used washers, electrical tape, plasterers tape, dymo tape and staples and stamped with bubble wrap.

Renee's challenge was to create 3 cards - 2 from sketches for the men in your life. DH's birthday is today so I made some birthday cards for him using Rosa Moka Mec pp.

TSE is also holding their cybercrop at the moment. I have managed to get 2 of the challenges done.

Tanya's challenge was to create a card using the colours from a season as inspiration and you had to include the word you in the sentiment, and ribbon. I made this card from Bo Bunny Mango Luau pp. It's a shadow box card, which I saw on Splitcoasters the other week. I made it for my Mum for her birthday in a couple of weeks.

I also did Heidi's challenge, which was to use bright colours; handmade embellishments, paper cutting and something springlike eg flowers, butterflies etc. These were almost my perfect criteria but it took me ages to decide on what to scrap. I finally ended up with a photo I've actually scrapped a couple of times before but it's one of my favourites of DD.

My last layout for this week is for Challenge 3 over at Scrapbooking Top 50. It was to create a 'white space' layout and use a dark background and bright foreground. Some more photos of DD at her party last week.
