Show Us Your Stuff October Challenge

Good morning  I have a layout to share with you this morning that I completed on the scrapbooking retreat I recently attended. I created this for the Show Us Your Stuff October Challenge which was to include multiple photos, arrows and of course some hand made stuff (I have a corrugated/cork flower that I created myself and a Purple Pumpkin button).
My teenage kids ‘claim’  they don’t ‘like’ each other but reality tells a different story.
In this layout, we were on a walk in the nearby Brisbane Ranges. My daughter has an injured knee and was complaining about it, so my son scooped her up and gave her a lift!
I created a background by spraying Lindys Stamp Gang starburst spray through a mask and then added some more masking using Distress Inks.  I used some old Little Yellow Bicycle Twig patterned paper that matched the colours of the photos.

And the FWAB Olive Green Jack Vine complimented the layout perfectly.

And I added an adhesive Pearl pearl from FWAB in the centre of my homemade flower.

Thanks for looking and don’t forget that there is the 50% sale now on over at the FWAB store.

Some more The Trinket Track work

I don't think I shared my work for The Trinket Track from earlier this month.
I have a layout and a card to share both featuring the magnificant Manor House Creations flowers in the shop.

In my layout, I have teamed up the flowers with some of the wood veneer goodies from the shop. I have used three sorts of flowers - Kyesha (orange), Meadows (cream) and Gelato - lemon.

Here are some close ups of the flowers

And the wood veneer bird cage with organza ribbon.

Wood veneer frame peeking out.

And another close up of the flowers. I love the centres!

Next I created a card using another wooden frame, which I covered in Viva Decor Inka Gold in Cobalt blue. This time I used a two tone Manor House Creations flower - Angelic.

I teamed up my MHC flower with a meadow bloom.

And I created a decorative pin using some acrylic heart beads and rhinestone beads.

Scrap Around the World October challenge

Good morning  I have a layout for you using some Trinket Track goodies. I was inspired to create this layout for the Scrap Around the World challenge this month using the lovely new Anna Maria patterned paper from Prima. I created my doily background using some texture paste and a Kaisercraft mask.

I have used 3 different flowers from the shop - Manor House Creations - Mayglo; Green Tara - white paper roses; and Sequin flower - Spearmint.

A filigree butterfly and pearl flower centre.

and a wooden frame

I also scattered some loose pearls on my page.

Here is the mood board for this month. I was inspired by the top right hand photo of the pink flowers (which reminded me of the pink MHC flowers) and the doilies and also the floral china in the bottom right hand photo.

Thanks for looking.

Giddy Up

Good afternoon here is a page that I created last weekend on my first scrapbooking retreat. It went up on the Purple Pumpkin blog yesterday.
This is my daughter having a pony ride at the local Melbourne Cup Day in the Park show. Sadly, it is no longer run. I wanted to create a kind of cowboy/wildwest feel the layout. I used October Afternoon Sasparilla patterned paper and stickers. I added some hessian, corrugated card and some chicken wire stencilling to make it a little more rugged. Then I added some Purple Pumpkin embellies to match.

Here a few close ups.

An inked red ticket.

A close up of my cluster, which includes a red ticket, a kraft tag, the brown rolled flowerXL cowboy button and brown twine.

Purple Pumpkin October Sketch

Welcome to a new month. There are a few changes over at Purple Pumpkin this month. For one, Sam has decided not to have a Design Team Call until December so that means I'm staying on until the end of December :)
We have a couple of new faces joining for the next 3 months. Check out the Purple Pumpkin blog to find out who they are.

Something that hasn't changed is that it's time for a new sketch.

Here it is:

And here is my take:

We went to the Tulip Festival at Tesselaar's a couple of weekends ago. It was somewhere I had been wanting to go for years. DH isn't too keen on driving on that side of Melbourne so we'd never been. Then I discovered you could get there by public transport so we made the long haul there - 2 1/2 hours each way by train and bus. It was worth it though. The tulips were magnificent.

Here a couple of close ups. Luckily, I had a fabric tulip button in my new DT stash.

Here's another older fabric button and an orange yo yo flower.

Another close up of the flowery fabric button, and the rose lace trim. I also wanted to show that I used some tranparency on the top half of the layout as it doesn't show up too well in the main photo.

You have until the end of the month to complete this Sketch Challenge and link it up in our sidebar by midnight 30th of September 2013. There will be two fabulous Purple Pumpkin prizes!
$25 & 15$ to spend in the Purple Pumpkin shop - one winner will be chosen by the design team, and the second will be a random prize draw. Winner gets to Guest Design in a future month - once they have received their Purple Pumpkin product of course!

Please check out our RULES:

*This is an international blog so anyone in the world can enter.
*You may combine challenges as long as you follow our sketch (only and not other similar to ours) with a link back to our blog and a picture of the sketch.
