Annas Craft Cupboard September Sketch

Another French birthday party page for this sketch challenge over at Annas Craft Cupboard.  I have used some scraps of pp, some Kaisercraft sticky felt ribbon cut up and used as a background, some washi tape, a couple of XL Purple Pumpkin buttons, some homemade bottle tops and and assortment of flowers.

I have one more layout to do about the Eiffel Tower Cake!

The Scrapbook Store September sketch

Well, I decided to give the sketch over at The Scrapbook Store a go using some more photos from Eleanor's French themed birthday party. This is her blowing out the candles on her Eiffel Tower cake.

Kraft it Up September Challenge

This months challenge at Kraft It Up is to create a layout using the colour pallette, Green, white, black and kraft. This is one of my favourite photos of my adopted cats. They can often be seen snuggled up together in the garden. It was perfect colours for this challenge.

The Scrapbook Store August sketch challenge

I managed to find time this weekend to do the sketch over at the newly named Scrapbook Store.
I used an old photo of us camel riding on Cable Beach at Broome, which I had printed off a while a go. I used some old Basic Grey pp from the Marrakech range which were the perfect colours for this. I also used some old Prima flowers I had and cut up a doilie.

Scrapz Olympics Part 2

As promised yesterday here is the rest of my Scrapz Olympic layouts.
Challenge 5 was weightlifting.  The added criteria was to use the word WEIGHT in your title or journalling, have numbers, include something heavier than paper. I used a charm.

Challenge 6 was Swimming. For this the added criteria was to use butterflies, use the word BREATHE in the title or journalling and to do something freestyle. I flicked some glimmermist for this.

Challenge 7 was cycling and the added criteria was to use the word RIDE, include wheels and use a chain.

The final challenge was the Closing Ceremony in which the added criteria were to use the word CELEBRATE or CELEBRATION, use something round, use lots of stickers and include flags. I had lots of fun doing this one and included a photo of DD at her party last weekend for this.

Scrapzbiz Olympics Part 1

Over the last month Scrapzbiz has been running an Olympic competition with a number of challenges based on sketches and set criteria.
To start things off there was a blog hop and a challenge to create a layout which was encouraging.

Olympic challenge 1 was the Opening Ceremony. The added criteria were to use the word start or begin, have a banner and include something that could be opened. My something that could be opened was an umbrella on my bottle top.

Challenge 2 was Archery. For this the added criteria was to use a bullseye design, arrows and the word AIM in either the title or journalling.

Challenge 3 was the triple jump. For this we had to use 3 photos, the word hop, step or jump and include some measuring tape on our layout.

Challenge 4 was Gymnastics. For this we had to include the word Balance, ribbon, bling, strip journalling and mat the photo.

Thanks for looking. I hope to get the rest of the challenges loaded tomorrow.

Long overdue update

Oh, it has been a while since I updated my blog. Strange really, since I last updated I have been made redundant from my part time job so am at home full time now. One would think I had more time! However, I was sick for a couple of weeks and August is always a busy month as we have lots of birthdays. Speaking of which the layout below is about my DD's 14th birthday party which was last weekend. She is keen to go to France in Year 10 with her school so to get in the mood she had a French themed party where everyone had to wear red, white and blue.
I have created this layout for the August challenge over at Purple PumpkinInstead of the usual sketch challenge, this month they have a Recipe challenge. The following ingredients need to be somewhere on your page...

  1. Paint - blue paint
  2. Use a Button - PP spotty button
  3. Add some twine- red
  4. Include some fussy cutting (I have fussy cut an Eiffel tower and a tag)
  5. Spray ink - red in my background
  6. A flower- resin flowers
  7. A doiley- blue PP doiley
  8. Use two different alphas for your title - yes
