A few layouts

Last weekend I took part in Scrapbooking Stock's first cybercrop and had great deal of fun doing all the challenges.

First challenge was to do a layout using a sketch provided. This is my interpretation of it. Used Kaisercraft Duchess range.


Challenge 2 was to create a Christmas card. I used Kaisercraft Christmas Carnival range for this.

Challenge 3 was to creat a layout using stamps. This is a layout about my son's appearance on the front page of the local newspaper. I have stamped newspaper print on the title using a Prima stamp and used some Kaisercraft stamps to stamp the embellishments down the side.

The 4th challenge was to create a Christmas decoration. I created this quilled snowflake. First time I've ever done any quilling. Instructions can be found here

Challenge 5 was to create a layout based on a holiday/weekend theme. I finally got to scrap this picture of camels on Cable Beach in Broome. I've been wanting to use this Basic Grey Marrakech pp for this for ages.

Finally, challenge 6 was to create a layout with 11 letters in the title, 11 buttons and 11 pieces of patterned paper. I used Bella Boulevard Flirty pp for this.

Finally, a couple of layouts I did for November challenges.

The first one was for the sketch challenge over at Anna's Craft Cupboard. Sassafras Lass Me Likey pp was perfect for these photos.

Secondly, my entry for Out of the Hat November challenge, where we had to use a die cut paper, 3 photos of different sizes and a tree. I have used Crate paper Season pp.

It's been a funny week

DD went off to camp in the Grampians on Tuesday and DS has gone off to Maryborough until Sunday, this morning. He had his photo on the front page of the local newspaper in an article about his schools entry to the RACV Energy Breakthrough Challenge, which is where he is at the moment. DD gets back from camp tomorrow afternoon, so DH and I have our first night alone together since DS was born (nearly 13 years ago!). I also got some really good news this afternoon, that DS has been accepted at the local Grammar School for next year.
Well, onto some scrapping. I managed to finish the rest of the Cybercrop challenges over at Scrapbooking Top 50. Here they are:

Challenge 5 was to create a layout using a whimsical style. Criteria was to include swirls or flourishes, a rubon, flowers and doodling. For a bonus you had to have a silhouetted photo. I have long wanted to do a layout like this with DD and her long hair.



Challenge 6 was to create a card using the criteria from one of the previous challenges. I went with the shabby chic style.


Finally, challenge 7 was based on criteria based on pictures we had selected earlier. My criteria were - to use a paper punch or mask, 2 brands of pp, use ivory or cream, used mixed alpha title and use ribbon. The bonus was to use style in the title. This is a photo of DD not looking too happy, dressed up for a Victorian school day.

Yay, I scrapped

Over at Scrapbooking Top50 they are having a What's Ur Style? cybercrop. Opening night there were 2 quick challenges. The first was to make a giftcard holder. Here is mine, ready for Christmas. I have used MME Colorful Christmas again/

The second quick challenge was to make a bag following instructions and then create a tag from the left over pp.

This weekend, I've managed to get 3 of the 4 challenges set so far (There are 7 in total).

The first is based on Urban grunge. Our criteria was to use cardboard, distressing, a black and white altered photo and at least 1 non-scrapping item. Bonus point was awarded for using eyelets. I had great fun doing this and had a go at using my Tim Holtz masks which have been sitting unused for over a year.

Challenge 2 is based on the shabby chic technique. The criteria was to use pale colours, distressing, fabric or lace, stitching and bonus point for using buttons. I created this layout of my Great Aunt Mabel, when she was 21. Used MME Bella Bella pp.

Challenge 3 is based on the minimalist style. Criteria was to use patterned paper for background (no cardstock), a 1 word title, strip journalling and an embellishment cluster with a bonus point for using ribbon. I used my avatar photo of Eleanor on our recent holiday.

Not sure I'll get any more challenges done for a week. Off to Paperific next Saturday, which should be fun.

Lots of card

Still haven't scrapped anymore pages but have managed to create quite a few cards.

The first is for The Scrapbook Establishment November sketch card challenge based on a sketch by Tanya. I just managed to get hold of the new Kaiser 6 x 6 pads and had a friends birthday coming up so decided to get straight to it using Lilac Avenue.



I have also joined in the 12 cards to Christmas challenge at TSE. There are 2 challenges per week.
The first one was to create a scene on a Christmas card. I have had some MME Colorful Christmas in my stash for a month or so and haven't got around to using it. So used it to create this colourful card!


The second challenge this week was to create a card using a photo of some chocolate dipped cherries as inspiration. I used some of the colours and the food theme for my card.


Finally, the November card challenge over at Scrapbook Boutique was to create an easel card. Here is my take using Kaiser K-Bots.

Some cybercrop entries

My scrapping mojo has been very up and down lately. I have hardly done any scrapping in the last week but did manage these layouts the week before.
Wicked Princesses
I entered a couple of challenges in the recent Wicked Princesses cybercrop.

This first one was based on a sketch. We also had to use the colour of party food as an inspiration. I choose fairy bread - white with bright colours. This is another layout with Bo Bunny Popsicle.


My second layout was for Kayla's challenge, which had to be a birthday page and include Bling. I have been wanting to scrap this photo from Eleanor's birthday party last year for ages and when I saw the new Fancy Pants Dancing Girl pp, I knew it would go with this photo. I'm pleased to say this layout won the challenge and was in their newsletter.

Scrapbooking Top 50

Over at Scrapbooking Top 50 they have been having a retro cybercrop. I managed to get 4 challenges done this month after bombing out the last couple of months.

First challenge was based on the 80's. Had to use bright colours, a fashion theme, tearing, lace and staples. I decided to scrap about some shoes Eleanor has seen at the weekend. I bought them during the week for her for Christmas so hope she doesn't see this!

The second challenge was based on the 70's - hand decorated white cardstock, bling and a minimalist approach. I glimmer misted the cardstock.

The next challenge I tackled was No. 5 based on which was base on criteria we had selected via pictures. I drew - sting, an altered photo, ledger background paper and bling.

Finally, I did Challenge 6 based on the how time flies. We had to use bright colours, circles, title and subtitle, bling and the creation had to be either a double layout or OTP or mini album and show a time line. I chose to do a selection of photos of Eleanor from 1-10. Not sure it turned out quite how I would have liked but I suppose it shows what I want it to do.

I've been busy

Unfortunately, not scrapping. I've been doing some extra days work and weekends seem to have been busy too. However, I do have a few pages and cards to show .

First up is for Sue's Top 50 scrapbooking monthly challenge. We had to use at least 2 shades of blue, a black and white photo, chipboard and buttons.


I have done a couple of challenges for TSE's October Cybercrop. First is a card for Jaimee's challenge which had to be either pink or blue, use animals, a shaped button and repeated words. The paper for this is some I picked up on our holiday in Perth at Riot. Was very cheap but great for cutting up.



Ngaire's challenge was to use green, a tag, a frame and to try and scrap about the wonder of discovery of children. I used a piece of Prima pp and some flowers that I recently received in a giveaway I won from the very generous Janine Koczwara.



Next up is my entry for the first week of Scrapper of Oz over at Scrapbiz. Our criteria were to create a layout about somebodies dream/hopes, create a scene, use all the colours of the rainbow and an element of movement. Normally, this is the sort of layout I would shy away from but I wanted to do something different and ended up really enjoying putting it all together. I have used bits and pieces from a lot of different manufacturers - Sass lass, Crate Paper, MME, Prima, Maya Rd, and My Little Shoebox.



This one is for Sara's October Random Challenge over at Scrapbook Savvy. The criteria were to use a photo larger than 6 x 4, at least 3 different patterned paper and a rubon. I used Sassafras Lass Me Likey.

Finally, this is the layout I did for my guest DT spot at Out of the Hat last month.
