Scrap the Girls Oct Challenge

This month the challenge at Scrap the Girls is a recipe challenge. You have to include:
hexagon, circle, rectangle, strips and a squiggle on your page.

Here is my take.

I created another layout using Kaisercraft True Romance. I created hexagons with texture paste through a stencil. I created a circle of pearls. My rectangle is my photo mat and under the photo I have used strips of paper. My squiggle is the bakers twine.

And here's a couple of close ups.

Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge - Tag you're it

This morning I have a very girly layout to share with you. I have teamed up some Kaisercraft True Romance pp with some Purple Pumpkin embellies for the current Frosted Designs challenge using tags. I placed several tags behind my photo and used a tag to include details about the photo plus there was a tag on the patterned paper.

I just rediscovered this photo last week, when I took a photo out of a frame to scan. This was behind it. This was taken of my daughter 15 years ago.

Now for some close ups of my Purple Pumpkin embellies.
Here I have used a sweet floral fabric button

A cute little fawn fabric button.

A vintage rocking horse flair button, a pink fabric flower and dotted around I have some light pink  twine bows.

I mixed some pink paint with texture paste  and used with  a Kaisercraft template.

A pink crocheted doily peaking out.

Thanks for looking.

15 and Fabulous

Today I do a full reveal of my FWAB layout from last week. It was a just because layout  using some FWAB pearls and some more of the gorgeous new Anna Maria from Prima.  This layout  features my daughter who recently turned 15.

And now for some close ups. I used a FWAB Grace Pearl Flourish in Rose Pink which I cut up and used as an embellishment for 2 of the flowers.

And part of a flourish from one of the Elise Flourish and Flower sets.

Both flourishes with some gorgeous Prima flowers.

Finally, I dotted a few individual pearls from the FWAB Adhesive Pack – 100 Rose Pink Pearls around the page in groups of 3.

Thanks for looking and if you want to grab yourself some of the pearl flourishes remember they are 50% off along with everything else in the FWAB stor ehere

My Minds Eye October sketch challenge

Whilst tidying up my patterned paper the other day I noticed some My Minds Eye paper that I had bought but never used so decided to use some of it up for this months sketch challenge over at the MME blog.

Here is my take on the sketch. Some more photos of our day out at Tesselaar's Tulip Festival last month. I have used some MME Lush and Lime Twist patterned papers and embellies.

Some close ups

And here is the original sketch:

Stuck Oct 1st sketch challenge

This layout is inspired by the first Stuck sketch this month. I kept fairly close to the sketch. I stitched the circles instead of using pp and added some texture paste.
I decided to match the bright colours of my sons hat and the navy of his uniform.

Look at this gorgeous Purple Pumpkin tiger button. Unfortunately it isn't currently available. I bought it a while back as it was something I just had to have but hadn't used. I decided this was the right layout for it as the smiling tiger symbolised the big smile on my son's face.

Next up we have a fabric orange bird button, chosen to go with the little chicks hanging from my son's hat.

Finally, I have used an ever useful orange fabric spotty button.

All my buttons were placed on orange tickets to ground them.

Finally, I added my journalling on some yellow Motex tape and some texture paste circles using a Kaisercraft stencil.

Sassy Scrapper scraplift Oct challenge

Good morning. Another Prima Anna Marie layout!! I've decided I'm going to use it all up to the last scrap. Don't know if I will but this is my 3rd layout using it.
This one is for the challenge over at Sassy Scrappers. The challenge is to scraplift one of the DT's projects from October.

I decided to scraplift the talented Shell Carmen's layout Santa Kid. I actually had the pleasure of sitting next to Shell at the recent Ladies of the Manor retreat and saw her create it IRL.

Anyway here is my version. I pretty much used Shell's as a sketch.

I've also decided recently to start using up things I've been hoarding. Things I love but can't bear to use up. This Prima flower is one example. I've had it for a number of years.

Another Prima flower but this time a more recent purchase.

I so liked the mix of texture paste and Kaisercraft doily that I used on one of my previous layouts that I used it again here instead of the paper doily on Shell's layout.

And here is Shell's original.

I still have a bit of Anna Marie left so you'll probably see another layout or 2 of it.

Show Us Your Stuff October Challenge

Good morning  I have a layout to share with you this morning that I completed on the scrapbooking retreat I recently attended. I created this for the Show Us Your Stuff October Challenge which was to include multiple photos, arrows and of course some hand made stuff (I have a corrugated/cork flower that I created myself and a Purple Pumpkin button).
My teenage kids ‘claim’  they don’t ‘like’ each other but reality tells a different story.
In this layout, we were on a walk in the nearby Brisbane Ranges. My daughter has an injured knee and was complaining about it, so my son scooped her up and gave her a lift!
I created a background by spraying Lindys Stamp Gang starburst spray through a mask and then added some more masking using Distress Inks.  I used some old Little Yellow Bicycle Twig patterned paper that matched the colours of the photos.

And the FWAB Olive Green Jack Vine complimented the layout perfectly.

IMG_8834
And I added an adhesive Pearl pearl from FWAB in the centre of my homemade flower.

Thanks for looking and don’t forget that there is the 50% sale now on over at the FWAB store.

Some more The Trinket Track work

I don't think I shared my work for The Trinket Track from earlier this month.
I have a layout and a card to share both featuring the magnificant Manor House Creations flowers in the shop.

In my layout, I have teamed up the flowers with some of the wood veneer goodies from the shop. I have used three sorts of flowers - Kyesha (orange), Meadows (cream) and Gelato - lemon.

Here are some close ups of the flowers

And the wood veneer bird cage with organza ribbon.

Wood veneer frame peeking out.

And another close up of the flowers. I love the centres!

Next I created a card using another wooden frame, which I covered in Viva Decor Inka Gold in Cobalt blue. This time I used a two tone Manor House Creations flower - Angelic.

I teamed up my MHC flower with a meadow bloom.

And I created a decorative pin using some acrylic heart beads and rhinestone beads.
