Scrapbook Savvy Oct CC

Scrapbook Savvy had their October Cybercrop on last weekend and I managed to get 3 challenges done.

Here they are.

First up was a sketch challenge.

Anthea's challenge was to include layering, distressing and misting/paint on your layout.

Finally, Renee's challenge was to include lots of dots/spots onn your layout.

Scrapbooking Top50 a little sketchy Oct CC

 I managed to get 3 of the challenges done for the October CC over at Scrapbooking Top 50. All 4 challenges were sketches with added criteria.

This was the sketch for Challenge 1 which had added criteria of doodling.

Out of the Hat Oct Challenge

I only seem to be doing the odd layout this month. Things seem to keep cropping up and taking up  my time or when I do have time I just can't seem to get motivated to scrap. So looking forward to December when we go to the Gold Coast for a week (Qantas willing) and hopefully I'll come back with a whole heap of new photographs to scrap.

Anyway, I managed to get this months Out of the Hat challenge done. The criteria was to scrap in complimentary colours - red/green, orange/blue or purple/yellow, use felt and a torn edge. Well I couldn't go past the purple/yellow colour combo with purple being DD's favourite colour.

Scrap the Boys Oct challenge

This is my entry for the Oct challenge over at Scrap the Boys. The extra criteria was to use handmade embellishments.

I decided to do a bright layout about my boys having fun at the Royal Melbourne Show a couple of weeks ago. I have used some homemade embellishments - bottle top, cog/star embellishment at the bottom right had corner and some shop bought handmade embellishments - 2 Purple Pumpkin buttons (the 2 spotty buttons). I have used some WRMK Fun fetti pp and a mixture of alphas.

Well I have't got much scrapping done this week with it being school holidays. Think my mojo has taken a hike for a while. However, it has been a good week in other ways. On Monday I found out I had gained a guest design place for Purple Pumpkin some time in the next 6 months. I also won their September challenge :) Yesterday Scrapbooking Memories v.13 n.12 came out and I have not only a layout featured in it but a whole page on me in Portrait of a Scrapbooker.

Once Upon a Sketch Oct 1 challenge

As soon as I saw the criteria for the first OUAS challenge this month I knew I had to do it. The journalling criteria was to writed about 2 noteworthy events that happened last week. So with Miget's operation firmly in my mind I had to do a page about it. The 2 noteworthy events about the whole business were when the vet phoned to say he had come through the surgery ok. There had been a chance he wouldn't make it and there had been a lot of tears in our household the night before and that morning. The other noteworthy event was when he started eating his apple again. That was a signal that his mouth was better and he was on the road to recovery. We still have to give him antibiotics for 6 weeks which has been another trial in itself. The first couple of days he lapped it up straight from the syringe (probably because he was so hungry and it was sore to crunch on anything). Then he decided no he didn't want it anymore. I tried force feeding him with the syringe with some success but it was really too stressful for me and Midget. So, I resorted to putting the antibiotics on bits of toast crusts (which he loves) and that seems to have done the trick. We have had no problems since then. Fingers crossed!!

As you can see the journalling ended up being the main focus of my layout. I used a mix of MME pps, a Prima flower, 2 Purple Pumpkin buttons, 2 Kaisercraft crocheted doilies and a Tim Holtz tag.
